Aldridge/Love, Game 2

Aldridge vs Love, Game 2 coming Saturday at Portland. Love obviously got the better of Aldridge in the first game so Aldridge will look to even things up. Love returns to Portland where he starred at Lake Oswego High before spurning a scholarship offer from Oregon to go play for UCLA. Love was named a starter for the All-Star game, but Aldridge is pretty much a shoo-in for a reserve spot on the team. Teamwise, the Blazers are doing much better than the Wolves, but the Wolves rode Love to a win in the first game. Game from Portland scheduled for 7pm PST from the Moda Center on Saturday.

Let me know when the Kings get any All-Star consideration.

There's a MUCH better chance that the Lady Hornets get All-Star consideration....

Should be a good game as long as the T-Wolves don't have a let down after their impressive win over the Warriors last night in Oakland. Portland is the better team right now, so it would be a great weekend if the Wolves sweep both teams on back-to-back nights.

Review from Jerry Zgoda from the Minneapolis Star Tribune...

No local TV? How do you watch the game in Minnesota? Oh, well, I guess I'm a little spoiled being here in Portland where we can get all the games on TV. :D

I generally listen to the games on radio. It's tough to compete against hockey for TV time in Minnesota.

Final outcome:

Aldridge 21 points, 6 boards
Love 15 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists

Blazers win, 115-104, and the two showcase pieces were actually shown up by Mo Williams and Kevin Martin. Blazers showed they are the better all around team, and both Martin and Nikola Pekovic actually had better games than either Aldridge or Love.

As far as deciding who had the better game between the two centerpieces, I call this a draw.
