...that in the last few weeks, the Whiners came VERY close to trading Jim Harbaugh to Cleveland.
Man, I would have LOVED to have seen that.

The TV news covered this just five minutes ago. The deal was in place, but was called off after Harbaugh refused to go. The negotiation was part of why the Brownies' search took so long.

I heard mention of this on my ride in. Harbaugh was close with the former GM. I don't care enough to follow this story any more than that.

So how much?
This story is legit. Big problems brewing in San Fran - the Coach and the GM hate each other, only communicate via email.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said there was an ‘opportunity’ to trade for 49ers’ Jim Harbaugh
The denials surrounding a possible trade between the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers were plentiful a few days ago.
Now those associated with the unsuccessful deal are willing to come clean.
Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam confirmed he spoke with the San Francisco 49ers about possibly obtaining head coach Jim Harbaugh during an interview with USA TODAY Sports.
"There was an opportunity there, and it didn't materialize," Haslam told USA TODAY Sports.
Meanwhile, 49ers CEO Jed York, who previously denied a deal was in place to deal Harbaugh, now admits there were talks between both teams.
So go play with Nessie, Clenz!
