Didn't know you got an invite to the combine...congrats!!BDKJMU wrote:The homo ran a 4.91....
Yeah, dude's a freak. I can't stand USuC, but he's a local guy so I hope he does well. The Texans have to take him at #1, right? I mean, Clowney and JJ Watt...that's almost unfair.andy7171 wrote:Clowney ran a 4.47.
You're such an evil person.BDKJMU wrote:The homo ran a 4.91....

still completely disappears from games for all but 4 to 6 snaps.Ibanez wrote:You're such an evil person.BDKJMU wrote:The homo ran a 4.91....
Clowney? Yeah, he had a shitty work ethic in College that seemed to point he was saving himself to make it into the pros. There was a thread on here about him and I even said he was overrated. He's famous for ONE sack 2 years ago.clenz wrote:still completely disappears from games for all but 4 to 6 snaps.Ibanez wrote: You're such an evil person.
The freakish numbers are nice but there are a lot of red flags around him with work ethic.

BDK being hung up on someones sexuality, is quite telling of the kind of intolerant, close-minded and hateful human being he is.![]()
I'd love to see him defend his intolerance. That'd be epic.
You don't have to tell me. I'm a Gamecock fan. I saw him play last season and he never once gave 100%.clenz wrote:Yes Clowney.Ibanez wrote: Clowney? It wasn't a sack...it was a hit on a 5'7 165lb running back as he was taking a hand off where the LT whiffed on the block and Clowney went untouched into the backfield.
He got player of the game for that game with 2 FUCKING TACKLES...FUCKING TWO.
His college coach called out his work ethic recently. While the general public salivates over his freakish combine numbers (which are very impressive, I won't deny that) the fact remains he only tries hard on roughly 10 snaps per game and the second the play goes away from him he stops.
He showed up to fall camp completely out of shape this past season. He refused to practice and Spurrier called him out on it.
Freakish athletic ability...we'll see how his work ethic changes to see if he can learn how to use it. Watching him rush he has very little technique - it's like watching a bull run through a china shop.

Interesting. ESPN was reporting last night that he shut it down after the vertical jump.Ibanez wrote:AZGrizFan wrote:And, as we'd expect with someone who takes 90% of the game off, Clowney participated in exactly TWO of the events at the combine, then took the rest of the day off.![]()

Um...joking?
40 yd dash - 4.53 seconds
Bench press - 21 reps of 225 lbs ( think)
Vertical Jump- 37.5 inches
Broad Jump - 124 inches
Cone Drill - 7.27 second
He was a top performer in 3 of the 5.

I didn't see him do the Shuttle Run.
He was a top performer in 3 of the 5.
After taking part in the 40, broad jump and vertical jump -- things used to measure explosiveness and straight-line speed -- Clowney took a pass on position-specific drills because of what he told those monitoring the workouts was a hip-flexor issue.
ESPN.com initially reported Clowney elected not to do cone drills, but he performed the three-cone drill in 7.27 seconds.
At least two general managers told ESPN.com they would've liked to have seen Clowney do the drills, and expected him to, but were not surprised he didn't given there are questions about his change-of-direction skills. The GMs said that Clowney and his representatives simply chose to play to his strengths Monday. Clowney will have plenty of time to work before his April 2 pro day at South Carolina.
But for a player who has carried questions about his work ethic in tow since the start of the 2013 season, it was another example, some scouts told ESPN.com, of Clowney passing on an opportunity to go full-tilt in a competitive situation and simply show what he can do.
NFL.com says differently.AZGrizFan wrote:Interesting. ESPN was reporting last night that he shut it down after the vertical jump.Ibanez wrote:

I only recall watching USC in one game last season, their opener vs UNC, after hearing all the Clowney pre season hype. When Clowney wasn't on the sideline sucking wind, he was lined up across from the UNC LT, #68 the majority of the snaps he was in the game. And of those snaps the 2 were 1 on 1, Clowney won a few, but overall #68 clearly won the head to head match up. Clowney had 3 tackles that game, 0 sacks or TFL.

Yup. I remember the last guy that "took plays off." Some POS named Julius Peppers...I barely remember him...he amounted to nothing.clenz wrote:Yes Clowney.Ibanez wrote: Clowney? Yup. I would love to see #68 stay in North Carolina with the Panthers--though very unlikely. I think Clowney can play. I don't know about his "work ethic." Y'all can play GM all day, but if he goes #1, it's because they don't buy the "work ethic" narrative.BDKJMU wrote:Built like Tarzan, plays like Jane. Heck, unfair to JJ Watt...ASUMountaineer wrote:
