a player drafted that late has never player a single game in the majors, according to multiple Twitter reports.Grizalltheway wrote:I still don't understand why teams do it. There's zero chance he'll step foot on a diamond unless he's a huge flop in the NFL.
The reports are wrong. Mike Piazza was drafted in the 62nd round (#1390), Jeff Conine was picked in the 58th round (#1,226), Kenny Rogers in the 39th round (#816) and Keith Hernandez was selected in the 42nd round (#785) for example. There used to be more rounds I guess.clenz wrote:a player drafted that late has never player a single game in the majors, according to multiple Twitter reports.Grizalltheway wrote:I still don't understand why teams do it. Why draft anyone there?
Because you have to field complete teams for genuine prospects to play with in the minors.clenz wrote:a player drafted that late has never player a single game in the majors, according to multiple Twitter reports.Grizalltheway wrote:I still don't understand why teams do it. And that's what you get for believing everything you read on twitter. Because that couldn't be further from the truth.clenz wrote:a player drafted that late has never player a single game in the majors, according to multiple Twitter reports.Grizalltheway wrote:I still don't understand why teams do it.
