Despite the fact that he beat my 'Boys twice in the Super Bowl, this is a great loss to the game. He took a team that was mired in mediocrity or worse for several decades and turned it into a Team of the Decade.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

He knew that. He is assuming that Tomlin will buy the team.

You are quite correct, dal. Jones was WAY off base on that, as was Penn State for the shameful fashion with which they treated Joe Paterno, Grambling for how they dissed Eddie Robinson, and App State for the way they dumped Jerry Moore.

My whole point with Noll was that a turnaround in the short time span in which he effected it was something you don't see every day. That's something that ought to be honored, even if it IS personally painful to me because it came at my team's expense. Same goes for the late Bill Walsh. Everyone forgets about the consecutive 2-14 seasons 49ers fans had to endure before Walsh put the pieces together, both with his WCO scheme (based at least in part on Sid Gillman's ahead-of-its-time passing principles) and his player selection process that led to HOF nominations for Joe Montana, Dwight Clark (if he's not there yet, he SHOULD be), Roger Craig, and Jerry Rice. Walsh had some pretty good defenses, too, with Board, Turner, and Lott. Noll's Steel Curtain Defense and balanced offensive attack with Bradshaw, Harris, Bleier, Swann, and Stallworth was nothing short of AMAZING.

Yes those 70s Steeler teams were amazing they could hurt you in any manner they so wished.Back to those ex-coaches I have no pity for Paterno he was told what was going on with Sandusky but he chose to ignore the fact that he had a child molester on his coaching staff. He used a lame excuse that the school president was on vacation and he didn't wish to disturb him!!!!!!!!!!!Cancer saved Joe Pa from a fate worse than death dealing with the media and the public!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerry said in a interview on NFL Network that he gave Landry his walking papers and wished him to have a nice day.I think they were talking about Tom Landry "A Football Life"
