Didn't you get the message? There are no separate World Cup threads allowed here...93henfan wrote:Here's hoping we do better than four years ago!

Julian Greene could be an international star by 2018 - not just "good for a US player" but a legit world class player.dbackjon wrote:Who will be on the team? Who should I watch?
Julian Green will (thankfully) still be around.DSUrocks07 wrote:http://www.ussoccer.com/mens-national-t ... est-rosterdbackjon wrote:Who will be on the team? Who should I watch?
Less than half of the current players will still be under 30 by 2018, plenty of new faces guaranteed. Hopefully MLS will make a marked improvement on helping to developing young American players.
Nice!CAA Flagship wrote:The clock between World Cups has now started and is now at 64'.
Wake me up when it is at 2,102,400'. I want to see if they figured out the clock thing.
Would you leave a club like Bayern for fuckin' Tottenham?clenz wrote:Really hoping Tottenham is able to land him.
I know a big push had been made for him
Agreed, Green isn't going anywhere unless it's on loan or unless Real or Barca come calling. Great sales job by Klinsman getting this kid to play for the US. Yeldin was a real revelation as well, another young future star who stepped up. The future is bright.Grizalltheway wrote:Would you leave a club like Bayern for ****' Tottenham?clenz wrote:Really hoping Tottenham is able to land him.

You might be able to get him on loan for a while, but das it.
Well, would you play for a team like the USA national team over the German national team?Grizalltheway wrote: Would you leave a club like Bayern for fuckin' Tottenham?

If he's that good and under contract with Bayern Munich then that is what loans are for. The kid goes to another club, gets to play, but his rights are still owned by the club that leant him. Courtouis, the Belgian keeper, is a Chelsea player but has been loaned out to Atletico Madrid for a couple of years now.Skjellyfetti wrote:Well, would you play for a team like the USA national team over the German national team?Grizalltheway wrote: Would you leave a club like Bayern for ****' Tottenham?

On the face of it... no. But, he had little chance of getting much meaningful time on the German national team anytime soon.
I don't follow Bundesliga, and especially Bayern Munich, as much as you do - but, seems like a similar situation. I'm not sure he goes to Tottenham... but, he could very well leave for a "lesser" club for better wages and more playing time.
A club like Tottenham could easily offer him 3x his current wages and a good chance to play first team soccer. Wouldn't be a ridiculous choice.
Exactly, no way Bayern lets him get away from them, his value shot up thanks to this WC.GannonFan wrote:If he's that good and under contract with Bayern Munich then that is what loans are for. We need it pinned with a sticky. No, not THAT kind of sticky...dbackjon wrote:Is this the "Official Thread"?
SuperHornet is in charge of the female sports posts around here. And no, women's sports don't count unless it's something that they are best at, like figure skating, synchronized swimming, curling, swimsuit competition, etc.Seahawks08 wrote:How about 2015? Or does the women's team not count?
