My statement is based upon resurrecting a past fighting style where the only ting that remained was a long sword. Not like they had videos to watch and see how it used to be done.....

This not true. I watched "A Knight's Tale" the other night and long swords were a part of tournament competition. Did you know they also danced David Bowie?
