Rangers take the Blues 3-2 thanks to 2 goals by Nash and 1 by Kreider. Recently acquired Dan Boyle is now out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand after stopping a puck with it and it was funny watching a 5'7" Zuccarello try to fight Oshie. Got crushed but brought some spirit to the team with Kreider scoring on a breakaway about 1:30 later.

Caps dominated first period but didn't do much the rest of the game. Fall in SO to Canadiens. Puck drop...

Wild are looking good with experience in Parise, Vanek and Suter, but the biggest boost may come from the 5 young stars in the lineup.

Strib Link
Granlund, Coyle, Brodin, Nino Niederreiter and Erik Haula go to Vikings and Timberwolves games together, grab dinner together, play video games together. They carpool to games, eat pregame meals together.

“And we push each other every day,” Niederreiter said. “We’re not jealous of each other, but when you see Granny do great things or Chucky do great things, you want to do great things.”

Look at the impact each made in last season’s playoffs: Granlund scoring a pivotal Game 3 overtime winner against Colorado and blocking three shots in the waning seconds of Game 4; Coyle scoring three goals and seven points and secretly playing with two separated shoulders; Brodin logging 24 minutes a night and helping the Wild’s transition game motor; Haula scoring four times and stunning the Blackhawks with his speed; and of course Niederreiter, who set up Jared Spurgeon’s tying goal in Game 7 before delivering the Wild its first playoff series victory in 11 years with an overtime winner.

The Wild begins the season Thursday night with high hopes resting on the potential of the five players who broke out last spring.

My Mighty Ducks start off 1-0 with a 3-2 win over the Red Wings fueled by a Ryan Getzlaf goal with 24 ticks left in the game.

Devils won to go to 3-0-0. Only 7 teams left with unblemished records.

Don't know whether it's good or bad that the Caps had to erase a three goal deficit twice last night. Down 3-0 after 9 minutes, the Caps rally to close within 4-3 after two, go back down 5-3 and score twice in the final 7ish minutes to escape with a point. Had to kill off a penalty with 1 minute to go in regulation that carried over to OT. First whistle of OT came with less than a minute to go. OT hockey is the best. :notworthy:

After winning Game 1, Rangers have lost by at least 3 (I think) in their next 3 games. they started out last year like this too so hopefully they can turn it around again.

Once I saw that the Caps scored 3 2nd period goals to take a 5-2 lead, I knew you would be smiling.

Wild off to a 4-2 start with 3 shutouts. #1 in Goals against, #2 in penalty killing, #6 is goals per game. Weakness so far is power-play, 29th. Play the Rangers at MSG tomorrow night.

Rangers overcome a 3-0 end of the 2nd period deficit and 4-2 deficit to the Wild with 14 minutes to go to win 5-4. Nash scores his 9th goal in 9 games to go along with 2 assists. Rookie19 year old Duclair scores with 3:48 to go to tie it up with Zuccarello scoring 37 seconds later to take the lead.

Actually couldn't watch the game because I had other plans.

Either way, you can't give up 5 goals in a period

Went to bed at 3-1, thought I would wake up to a Wild win, not a Wild loss. Power Play sucks for the Wild

How early do you go to bed? It was a 7:00 game at MSG which means 6:00 in ND or Minnesota. Game couldn't have ended late at all especially if you are in the central time zone

Now if you are saying you went to the bedroom when it was 3-1 (if you know what I mean), well then

Approx 9 pm on a work night. My phone said 3-1 as I set my alarm.

Wild pull the reversal on the Bruins to get the win. Down 3-1, Wild get 3, third period goals.
