Vols coach reportedly says receiver will regret attending South Carolina
Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin made Florida supporters angry when he incorrectly called Urban Meyer a cheater. And now the Vols coach has said something that will rile South Carolina fans and coach Steve Spurrier, ESPN reported.
Trying to lure wide receiver Alshon Jeffery to Tennessee, Kiffin said Feb. 3, the eve of signing day, that if Jeffery went to South Carolina, he would end up pumping gas for the rest of his life like everyone else who played for the Gamecocks, ESPN reported.
"He said it, but it's not worth talking about," Jeffrey said, ESPN reported.

Coaches say things like this to recruits all the time at all levels. It just doesn't get publicized.
That doesn't make it right but, if I were the kid I'd be happy I found out and didn't commit.
Coaches put so much effort into recruiting that they feel personally slighted sometimes. It happened to me when I got recruited (Div I) and it happened to my brother when he got recruited (Div III).

replace "pumping gas" with "sucking d**k", if i were the recruit, i wouldve avoided tennessee too, look at the coach, he would be there for 4 years most likely

Scary part is that senile Al Davis was correct all along. Lame Kiffin is a pathological liar.
All he's done is pissed off most of the SEC coaches. When UT plays Florida this year, bet all you want on the Gators regardless how many points the Vols are gonna get. It won't be enough.
Best quote I ever heard to sum up this idiot: "Kiffin was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple."
Hopefully, The AD at UT will put this nut on a short lease.

Kiffin gets Richt and Spurrier in Knoxville so the home field MAY help him somewhat, but he goes to the Swamp and the URBANATOR is going to eat his ass alive. Florida by 50! BET ON IT!!!
