American Pharaoh dominates a sloppy Preakness!
Two weeks to Belmont. Will it be another disappointment? Or first TC winner in 37 years?

Man, have not watched anything on this so far. Usually don't avoid it this badly. So what will be the manufactured controversy this time ya think>?
It's not enough to let the drama build on it own right?

2:26 unofficial; 2 secs behind Secretariat. Pretty damn quick. Of course, Secretariat had no pressure either.

When you're 31 lengths ahead of 2nd place, all you're racing is the clock.
Pharoah ran the 2nd fastest Belmont of all time and was still 2.5 seconds slower than Secretariat. That goes to show you how special Secretariat really was.
BTW, It was awesome to see Penny Chenery at 93 years old sitting in the stands and cheering Pharoah on.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was saying. Secretariat never felt a whip. Turcotte turned around to look back because he heard no other steps.

I've had that picture as the wallpaper on my computer for years.

It's sort of funny that the jockeys for the second and third place horses both have the whips out in the picture.

A little bit of Debbie Downer:
The other side to the Triple Crown won Saturday by American Pharoah happened behind a curtain, where you couldn't see it. It happened in front of hundreds of media, most of whom haven't written about it, which is why you probably didn't know — and won't, until a few seconds from now — that a horse was killed not a quarter-mile and not three hours before American Pharoah won the Belmont...

Funny compared to Secretariat, but they were fighting each other for second place money.

Not true. 7th fastest at the present length.
Point Given ran a 2:26:56 in 2001.
AP Indy ran a 2:26:13 in 1992
Easy goer ran a 2:26:00 in 1989
Risen Star ran a 2:26:40 in 1988
Gallant Man ran a 2:26:60 in 1957
And, of course, Secretariat ran the 2:24:00 in 1973.
AP did run the second fastest Belmont for a Triple Crown Winner.
But, AP wasn't trapped behind another horse for any part of the race, so he was never forced to run a different pace. AP ran as clean a race as any horse could.

Monday morning quarterback.
Just repeated then what was said at that time seconds after the race.
Looks like Pharoah is Secretariat's bitch X2...Risen Star was sired by Secretariat.

Baldy, you probably heard that he was the second fastest Triple Crown winner at Belmont, which is true. Easy mistake.
CluckU a Monday Morning QB? Nah! Never!!

Nah...I used to follow the horses a lot. I'm not old enough to remember Gallant Man

, but I easily remembered Easy Goer ran the 2:26 flat (it was a big deal back then, and they compared that run to Secretariat's) so that made Baldy's quote inaccurate.
And I knew several other horses ran 2:26+, so I got curious to see where AP fell in the rankings.

Don't search for what happened to Ruffian on track, or even worse, what happened to Alydar off track. The second in particular will make your blood boil.

Yeah, that is one of the shittiest stories you will ever hear.
