Course is really ugly IMO. Looks a lot like Tobacco Road near Pinehurst. I know a guy who is there with the media and he said it absolutely blows from a spectator standpoint. Have to walk a mile to get between holes.
Z must be watching with his pants around his ankles with Phyllis leading.

I have watched about 15 minutes of the telecast....enough to know I will NEVER pay money to play that course....
Wonder how Tiger will do?

Given the way he's driving the ball lately... not well.

In 1970, Dave Hill complained that Hazeltine was quoted as saying "Hazeltine really did lack only 80 acres of corn and a few cows. They ruined a good farm when they built this course". Hill ended up finishing second.

It was a horrible course... that's why they completely redid it in the late 70's.

I heard that, just interesting that the biggest critic took second place.

I have to agree, it's ugly right now but not as ugly as having to listen to Joe Buck and Greg Norman all week.
Course looks better the rest of the year.

No different than Pinehurst. Mike "Asshole" Davis browned #2 out to look like #2 but a couple weeks after the women's Open it was back to being lush.

The crowd just laughs at T Dub after he puts his second shot into a deep bunker on 18. Dude is just playing brutally.

T Dub's agent denies Fox a post-round one on one interview while he's still on 18.

Echo the previous comments about the course. It might look good at some point in the year, but right now is clearly not that point. The course looks like shit.

Tiger needs to suck it up and go back on his knees to his old swing coach & apologize & ask to take him back.

I was thinking of you yesterday as they mentioned on the telecast how instrumental Davis was in the initial design of Chambers Bay.
I heard the USGA recently described as a boutique organization. I couldn't agree more. They are not helping the game or the industry at this point.

What a hideous golf course. It's so un-green. Is it part of klam's empire?
