After today's revelation that Brady knowingly destroyed evidence will the NFLPA really waste everyone's time with a frivolous appeal? Cmon man the guy destroyed his phone!! Whether there was pics Gisele didn't want public or damming evidence against him, Brady sunk his own boat.

Mark McGwire, Tom Brady, Barry Bonds...this one hurts too because he was a Michigan guy

They should have doubled the suspension.

I bet there was tampering evidence with LaGarrett Blount on there as well.

Anyone see the abuse the owner tossed in Goodell's direction, and Belichick playing it mum? Apparently, they think it was illegal for the league to demand access to Brady's cell phone. They might have something there....

Don't deflate the balls and this never is an issue. Brady cheated, got caught, and is now trying to find someway to pretend it didn't happen. Pitiful.

Good riddance. He thought he was above it. I don't care if he cheated or not, his job is to throw a damn ball. A BALL! Play be the rules.

I'm curious as hell now
I bet the Patriots fumbles numbers go UP
Interceptions go UP
and losses go UP

I predict 10-6 (maybe 9-7) record next season

"Brady denies destroying his phone so that he didn't have to hand it over to the NFL. He says that he replaced his broken Samsung phone with an iPhone after his attorneys told him that investigators would not be given the phone itself.

As for what was on the phone, Brady says that they turned over "detailed pages" of phone records and all of the emails requested by the Wells investigators. They also went to the phone company to retrieve the relevant messages from his broken phone. The NFL acknowledged that last part in the 20-page statement explaining Goodell's decision, buried in a footnote on page 12.

The league declined to work with the phone company to retrieve the details of Brady's cell phone records because it was "simply not practical." That line and Goodell's effort to make it sound like Brady's phone was deliberately destroyed prior to meeting with investigators doesn't instill much confidence in the the NFL's ad hoc approach to disciplining players."

I fail to see how this tarnishes Brady's legacy. Deflating the footballs is hardly a major advantage (better grip, but harder to throw far). Also, it seems many (if not most) QBs have been doing this over the years. Is anyone clamoring for Brad Johnson's Super Bowl ring to be taken away? I'm not a Patriots fan, but I think Brady's being unfairly singled out by the media here.

The NFL deserves most all the blame. If they didn't allow teams any access to footballs before games, this would've never been an issue. It's kinda like leaving a safe unlocked & putting a "Please don't steal from me" Post-It on the dial.

Um, did you just compare slightly deflating a football with rape? :?

Easy, since the Pats have already been dinged for cheating once before (Spygate) and Brady was the QB at the helm then, it's just one more ding on their overall assessment. A lot of those Rams players on the team that lost on the last second FG in the Super Bowl to the Pats still swear to this day that a team they were moving the ball well against in the first half all of a sudden seemed to know every play they were going to run in the second half before they ran it. So it's just one more in a series of Pats either bending or just flat out breaking rules to gain whatever advantage, no matter how small, they can get. So, Cheaters.

Part of being the evil empire is to be hated
And to support their evil ways the Patriots work hard to find the loopholes
and push the league to either change the rules to eliminate the loophole

The defensive pass interference rules were tightened after their second Superbowl victory
The punt team coverage rules were changed after it was discovered they were using a loophole
The Player eligibility rules have now been changed
Linemen eligibility rules were also updated
The tuck rule

There are a few more involving the Patriots as well but I've forgotten
The list is staggering

They are the Evil Empire
and they will never stop being that

Don't forget, they also forced the league to be very clear about when you are and when you are not allowed to train a video camera onto the opposing team's sideline during a game and review it at halftime, and you are not allowed now to take the footballs after they've been checked by the refs and deflate them to better fit the hands of your QB, no matter how tiny his little girlie hands might be. Good thing we closed those loopholes.

I know they beat the Ravens and that hurts your feelings... I'm sorry
But the Patriots are the Standard by which the Ravens Management measures themselves
and that is a fact - Harbaugh has said as much

It will be interesting to see how the Evil Empire responds
I think they suffer more from losing Revis and a handful of other DB's (one going to the Ravens)
more than the air in any football

It will be interesting to watch :notworthy:
BTW: The Seahawks are going to the SuperBowl again this season (just an FYI)

Modern American business and politics are driven by the notion that it's only illegal if you get caught.

I love seeing all the righteous indignation and egalitarianism up in here.

Uh, I'm an Eagles fan, not sure how the Ravens figure into all of this.

Oh, and Brady cheated. And the Patriots cheated before. Can't ignore that.
