MIAMI -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth hit and killed a pedestrian with his Bentley Saturday morning on a busy causeway linking Miami and Miami Beach, police said.

Stallworth was headed toward the beach when he hit Mario Reyes, 59, around 7 a.m., said Miami Beach police spokesman Juan Sanchez. Reyes was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. Reyes was near a crosswalk but it's not clear if he was crossing legally.

i live pretty close to Miami Beach, about 15 minutes, and IDK what that guy was doing walking on the causeway. It has to be one of the most unfriendly pedestrian roads around there.

I Googled where it happened and it didn't look like a good place to go for a stroll.

it was already probably bright out at 7 am, but it is also a place without lights on most of the road.

leaving South Beach at 7am means one of the two was not in the right state of mind. SB is a place where you do not go out til 2 in the morning and do not get in until 5-6 or 7 if you really like to party. So I have a feeling someone was doing something wrong.

He's been charged with DUI manslaughter which can carry a 15 year prison sentence... I see many years behind bars for Stallworth.

sucks for Stallworth. There is really no way to get around this one by being famous.
