Possibly a Tribe alum who was once a Philly DC?93henfan wrote:So who will the next coach be?

Still the most amazing thing about the Kotite story was, after what was a truly horrific stint as a head coach with the Eagles, and how incompetent he showed he was, was that immediately after being fired by the Eagles someone actually thought he'd be a great hire and selected him to be their head coach relatively right away. The Jets of that era were truly in a class of their own when it came to idiocy.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:93henfan wrote:So who will the next coach be?
I thought we were talking about the Eagles, not the Bears...dbackjon wrote:Me
Well, clearly the first round pick will be an offensive lineman, so that fills one spot. Need to find free agents for the other spots. A lot of ills get solved if you fix the offensive line.bluehenbillk wrote:I'm skeptical on what ANY coach will do with the 2016 edition of this team. The OL is in shambles - you have Lane Johnson as the only above average player that will be back there next year. Otherwise you have an aging and average Kelce at Center and then 3 spots to fill.

Depending on who you bring in, Kaepernick may work if his falling apart was just due to 49ers being a complete mess. May be able to trade for him relatively cheap. Would need to happen before FA starts though because I don't think the Eagles want to go into free agency without a QB besides Sanchez on the roster. If they want Kaep and can't get him before Free Agency starts, possibly franchise Bradford and then try to negotiate an extension if he is their guy but I am not buying him yet (though as you said, not a lot of great options out there).GannonFan wrote:Well, clearly the first round pick will be an offensive lineman, so that fills one spot. For me, the real big question is whether Bradford stays here or not. Whether you think Bradford is the answer for long term at QB or not, he's better than anything else you can get right now. I think getting a head coach in here and keeping Bradford is paramount to be a decent team in the next few years. Unless we would be happy with a Hoyer or a Sanchez or that type of QB.
Bringing in a running QB and getting rid of the coach (Kelly) that would seem to want a running QB would be very ironic. I'm not sure that Kaepernick is a better QB than Bradford, especially if we are going with a coach that doesn't want to emphasize a running QB.tribe_pride wrote:Depending on who you bring in, Kaepernick may work if his falling apart was just due to 49ers being a complete mess. I heard this as well on Mike and Mike. Sounds like Tennessee is interested in Kelly.GannonFan wrote:Early buzz on the sports radio dial has people focusing on either Sean McDermott (former Eagles assistant coach, now DC with Carolina) or Adam Gase, the Bears OC.
Wouldn't be surprised if Chip gets hired right away by the Titans. He'd then be reunited with Marcus Mariotta. Could be interesting.
RGIII may be available...GannonFan wrote:Well, clearly the first round pick will be an offensive lineman, so that fills one spot. Need to find free agents for the other spots. He will be available and if Kelly had stayed, he probably would have made a move for him. Thank God they fired Kelly.Rob Iola wrote:RGIII may be available...GannonFan wrote:

Yeah, like Lesean McCoy did. No wait.Chizzang wrote:I have a weird feeling about this...

That said, I'd like to see the Iggles hire Vermeil.
