IMO, gets into the HOF on his swing alone... :notworthy:
One of the most beautiful things (no homo) in sports.

99% of the vote, highest of all time.

He may have never won a ring, but at least the Spankmees never got their hands on him.

Only reason I ever liked baseball. The longer he's been out of the game the less I find myself caring.

I, obviously, didn't see the guys from the 60s and 70s that most will put as the greatest ever, but I can't imagine anyone being a better all around player than him.

I have 200ish Griffey Jr. cards - including a GemMint 10 rookie. That thing is locked up real tight.

The ironic thing is that he enters the Hall with a guy who had one of the worst looking swings (Piazza).

He hated the Yankees for, what he perceived as, his father being wronged by them.

Highest drafted and lowest drafted players in the hall of fame enter in the same class.

:tothehand: STOP!
This thread is about our collective man-crush (boy-crush back in the day) on Griffey's swing

I don't have nearly 200 KGJ cards, probably only 50-60. But I do have the original Upper Deck one that was actually a pic of him in either a minor league uniform or college/high school uniform that they doctored with the Seattle uniform. I think I have several of them actually. Might be worth some money some day. :thumb:

It is a sweet swing. No doubt about it. But it is technically a long swing that is geared to pulling the ball (no kalm).
Strawberry had a long swing similar to Griffey.
I prefer a more compact swing that can be used to hit to all fields (see Cano and Mattingly).

Strawberry also did lots of coke (and presumably hookers).
And jail time.
And played for the Yankees.
And Mets.

Thus, he is a fucktard and doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as KGJ, unless you are referring to him as the fucktard that he is (was? Is he dead?)

Just like Peanut Butter and Jelly. Or Dinosaurs and Water. Hookers and Blow, man, Hookers and Blow.
