Another good move, as is the Demarco Murray trade. Getting rid of a shitload of Chip Kelly fuckups. Finally.

I wouldn't exactly call Murray an F/U. Trading for him just to keep him away from Dallas, only make him ride the pine IS an F/U, however....

Not sure if it's true but looks like Eagles are getting a 5th rounder for Murray.

They didn't get him to keep him away from Dallas. They got him to replace McCoy, and he rode the pine because he didn't produce. He didn't produce because 1) He was not used properly (he needs to get the ball running forward - he's no dancer like McCoy) and 2) Kelly let two OL starters walk in the 2015 offseason and the line was atrocious.
A fifth round pick would be generous. Dumping that contract and getting anything back is a plus. Matthews was the better RB.
The Eagles are doing the right thing going into full rebuild mode. It's much preferable to the Dan Snyder method of a decade of overpriced old veterans and the resulting mediocrity.

The only problem with all these moves is Howie Roseman is in charge of finding & acquiring talent.

It's weird, it doesn't sound like Maxwell's and Murray's contracts were all that bad - apparently both are owed very little after the upcoming season, despite the initial price tags.
I'm fine with getting rid of Murray - he was damaged goods and RB's have such short shelf lives (why I was fine with getting rid of McCoy - he's on the steep downward side of the end of his career). Matthews is apparently on the block too and I'm sure his injury issues (here and before he came to Philly) is the reason for that - gotta stay healthy if you want to stay.

My guess is DeMarco Murray rushes for 1,200 yards with the Titans next season
The Titans will be drafting linemen and they have a chance to build a decent O-line
They needed a guy like Murray
and the Eagles needed to close the chapter on Chipper
both teams get what they need on this one
I think he counts $7. Mil against the cap this season
which is high but not crazy if you're the Titans with $75 Mil in room or whatever it is

Maxwell trade may be dead because Maxwell isn't passing the physical.

Deal is dead for now. Interesting that no draft picks were part of deal, just flip-flopping 1st round picks - 8th & 13th. Straight salary dump. Reportedly Maxwell said he couldn't bench press or do pushups as part of his physical.

5 spot improvement in the first round would have been a great deal for dumping those two Glass Joes. Damn.

Well now writers in both cities are saying deal is back on, we'll see later this afternoon.

As Gannon said, the Maxwell deal is not too bad as it is only a 1 year commitment left. He is guaranteed the $8.5 million this year but no dead money if he is cut by Dolphins after this year and Eagles are taking their dead cap of $4.8 Million this year ($6 Million signing bonus prorated for last 4 years of contract) right now.
If he can't play and is injured, that hurts the Dolphins this year but since 2002, they've only made the playoffs in 2008 so no big loss there.

Can you trade an injured player..?
I'm not clear on the league rules on that - I'm not sure you can

Supposedly the Dolphins no longer have concerns (at least that is what they are saying). In addition to the swapping of 1st round picks, Dolphins will get compensatory picks though I am not sure when

Of course, if we had just laid down in the season finale against the Giants like we should've we wouldn't have to try to move up as much.

Had to reach way back in the memory bank for that one. Released the year before I was born.

I like this deal. Dolphins. Really going for a win now mentality. And if it doesn't work. We can just cut them both in a couple years

The idea that Murray was benched for lack of production is ludicrous. Kelly never gave him the ball enough to come to that conclusion.

I see you weren't able to follow the Eagles in 2015.
