Nah, the mistake by the lake will keep bitching. After all, it is the only US city capable of successfully setting a river on fire. :coffee:

But we'll always have Philadelphia, City of Losers!

No Eagles Super Bowl wins EVER.

No NBA title since 1983.

No Stanley Cup since 1975.

No World Series win since 2008. :ohno:

Philly does lead the futility among towns with all four major sports.

Washington DC is starting to give us some competition in the suckitude category though. Those Redskins trophies are starting to sprout ivy. They're coming up on 25 years old.

Cities with all 4 sports
Minneapolis now leads with the last title in 1991 - Twins
Washington 2nd with last title in 1992 - Fighting Hawks
Atlanta 1995 Braves

And I don't believe Minneapolis became a four sport town until this millenium. Any suffering started after Y2K.

Current four sport cities with championships in my lifetime:

New York (24) - Giants 4, Jets 1, Yankees 7, Mets 2, Rangers 1, Islanders 4, Devils 3, Knicks 2
Boston (19) - Patriots 4, Red Sox 3, Bruins 3, Celtics 9
Los Angeles (17) - Dodgers 2, Angels 1, Kings 2, Ducks 1, Lakers 11
San Francisco/Oakland (14) - 49ers 5, Giants 3, A's 4, Warriors 2
Chicago (11) - Bears 1, White Sox 1, Blackhawks 3, Bulls 6
Detroit (9) - Tigers 2, Red Wings 4, Pistons 3
Dallas (7) - Cowboys 5, Stars 1, Mavericks 1
Miami (7) - Dolphins 2, Marlins 2, Heat 3
Philadelphia (6) - Phillies 2, Flyers 2, Sixers 2
Denver (5) - Broncos 3, Avalanche 2
Washington, DC (4) - Redskins 3, Bullets 1
Minneapolis (2) - Twins 2
Phoenix (1) - Diamondbacks 1

Of if you only count the cities that had four sports, same teams the entire 49 years...

New York (21) - Giants 4, Jets 1, Yankees 7, Mets 2, Rangers 1, Islanders 4, Knicks 2
Boston (19) - Patriots 4, Red Sox 3, Bruins 3, Celtics 9
Chicago (11) - Bears 1, White Sox 1, Blackhawks 3, Bulls 6
Detroit (9) - Lions 0, Tigers 2, Red Wings 4, Pistons 3
Philadelphia (6) - Eagles 0, Phillies 2, Flyers 2, Sixers 2 (and only one of those is post 1981)

That's why it feels worse to be a Philly fan.

Bingo on the last half of that post.

And a minor edit. Sixers won in 83 right? That's two post-81 then with the Phils.

The Eagles are easily the most heartbreaking of all.

Jeez. How many teams does NY need?

The answer is at least 2 of each.

Do the Sabres not have any Championships. They're in Buffalo, you know. :coffee:

Aren't the NY Jets and NY Giants, NY in name only? Didn't the move to NJ in the 70s & 80s? IF you're going to include them, why not include the LA Clippers and LA Dodgers in your count?

:suspicious: Three martini lunch today? Redskins don't play in Washington DC, Patriots don't play in Boston, etc... it's markets and the Dodgers are in there and did I miss a Clippers championship?

NY Jets and the NY Giants don't play in New York.

They are the New England Patriots not the Boston Patriots. :thumb:

I thought your post said "sport cities". I must've missed where you are talking about media markets. :coffee:

I added the Dodgers and Clippers just as teams that used to be in NY but no longer are.
