First drive, third play, Wentz does a masterful hard count on 3rd and 3 to pull the Browns offside for the first down. :thumb:

Follows that with three first down passes. So far so good.

BEAUTIFUL touch pass to Jordan Matthews in the left corner for a TD on first drive!!!

Only incompletion on the first drive was a drop that was right on the numbers.

Wentz with another beautiful TD pass, 35 yards through the air to Nelson Agilor put only where Agilor could catch it with a man on his tail.

Wentz is the real deal. Great to see.

I would like to get excited, but this was like the Hens beating DelSt. The Browns just suck.

I guess you didn't see the game? Wentz had great touch on the scoring passes and on several other key throws in the game. Never looked rattled like Bradford did on every play. I was pleasantly surprised. In the pregame, Tony Gonzalez said the game was a disaster waiting to happen for Wentz and then after the game Gonzalez had kneepads on ready to fellate him..

At least the argument has changed from "He didn't play against FBS competition" to "He hasn't played against a good NFL team".

No, it might still be the same, I'm not sure Cleveland is good enough to be in the FBS.

With that said, I liked Wentz, he looked great and should be plenty fine in the NFL. Joe Flacco's been highly successful with the same background so no reason why Wentz can't be at least like him and who know's, maybe even better.

No, mother effin WBOC had the Ravens game on. Thought being in LSD might afford me the chance to see the Iggles.

Jeez Gil, sorry I'm not ready to anoint him the next coming. What you seem to be missing is that I am an Eagles fans so I hope he is. But a win over a team that had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year isn't going to do it for me.... yet.

I don't expect him to be anointed the Ginger Jesus yet, but I was just pointing out that he keeps proving that he belongs. The next step is to win game 2.

The difference between the worst team in the NFL
and the best team in the NFL
is about 15% to 20%

So: Any win is a big win

True the Browns won't win many games this season
and YES they are among the worst teams in the league
But so are the Eagles - So that was a nice win

and

Just getting OUT of that ridiculous Sam Bradford contract was enough to call the season a total WIN

How are you measuring that?

Team with losing records vs. Teams with winning records
Head to head + Score differential
Head to head + Yardage Differential on both sides of the ball

Example:
Jaguars vs. Packers yesterday
Dolphins vs. Seahawks

Which of those is the best team in the NFL and which is the worst? Those were 10-6 vs 6-10 teams.

The Packers won a playoff game
The Seahawks were one win away from the Superbowl

This is a good example of how close teams actually are
You don't have to agree - it's your own personal world - have at it

But NFL metrics experts agree on this theory universally

I agree getting rid of Bradford was important, but how was the contract an issue? It was basically a one year deal with the club being in a very good position for the remaining years. It was a contract set up not to scare off potential trade partners, which is what happened.

a 2 year $36 Million dollar deal for a below average QB is a bead contract (PERIOD)

Question: How much did the Eagles pay Bradford this years for ZERO snaps ..?

It's Maryland, bruh. The unofficial Eagles/Ravens-Skins dividing line in Delaware is probably 404 and a line extending east through the Indian River Inlet. RB/DB is mostly DE/PA types while BB is more heavily MD/DC/VA.
