MLB Postseason 2016

Good race going on in the best division in baseball; AL East.
AL Wild Card is a 7 team race. NL WC is a three team race.

The Montanadians from Toronto got their asses swept in the Bronx. Mets on a roll. Defending champ KC, and the fighting Chizzangs, still in it, but can't afford any more slip-ups the rest of the way.

You better check that again. I count 5. That is better than even odds, which comes out to 4.

Uh, no, he's technically right. Of course, of the last 12 world series participants, 6 of them were from the NL and the AL East couldn't do anything about that. And so the last 6 AL teams, from 2010-2015, included only 1 team from the AL East, the Red Sox in 2013.

Well shit. Next time speak English. WTF was that?
I should have known something was up coming from you. :suspicious:

But that doesn't mean anything related to my comment. The best division in baseball, right now (this season), is the AL East. So put that in your Strasburg bobble head and smoke it. :kisswink:

The Nats will lose in their first round of playoffs again, and the Cubs won't get to the WS.

Bank on it. ;)

I hate posting this, but the hated Yankmees have done well this season. Sold big at the trade deadline, and got a passel of talent in return. Now they are competing for both the AL East and the Wild Card's. Bastards.

I don't think that any of the young talent they got are participating in this charge. Judge, Sanchez, and Austin were already in the farm system.

As a Yankee fan, this has been exciting. But it won't mean much because they don't have playoff pitching.

Yeah... I'm sure that's what you meant.

Mets, Giants and Cards separated by 1-1/2 games for the two WC spots.

5 games separate the top and bottom teams of the 7-team log jam in the race for the ALWC

21 games left.

I didn't mean the talent received in the trades. Just impressed that they have made the move in the standings after seemingly throwing in the towel on the season.

Saw in the paper today that Strasburg may be out for the season.

Looking more and more like Nats vs Dodgers, so I'd unfortunately have to agree. My only hope is the Giants catch the Dodgers.

The kid has a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head. He needs to learn how to pitch rather than throw.
Very few starting pitchers with hard curve balls like that have avoided serious arm injuries in their career. Bert Blyleven and AJ Burnett are some of the lucky few off the top of my head. Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, and Francisco Liriano were great young pitchers with hard curve balls that had serious arm injuries. Strasburg is another one.

Mariners win their 6th in a row, now only 2.5 GB. Watch your backs, Yank-mes.

The Yankees schedule the rest of the way is brutal, with the exception of 3 at Tampa. Otherwise, it's LAD, TOR, BOS, and BAL. Fuck me runnin'.

Seattle and Detroit are in good position to get one of those WC slots.

Nats magic number down to 9 after last night's drubbing of the Mutts.

Detroit has to play Cleveland 7 times though. They are 1-11 this year against them to date. Only real hope is to win against Minnesota, Atlanta and hopefully take the series with KC. Then manage a 4-3/3-4 split with the Tribe. All the time hoping that the East contenders take care of each other.

Houston and KC may have sealed their fates with 1-run losses last night. AL has 5 teams withing 2.5 games of each other in fight for the two WC spots.

NL now has 3 teams within 1 game of each other fighting for the two WC spots.

Approximately 18 games remaining.
