I'm still recovering from losing to the Giants yesterday. The Giants had nothing to play for. The Skins had everything to play for. The Skins showed up like the Giants were going to lay down. I only saw 6-7 players actually trying to win. I'm completely disgusted with all the other players...

While Cousin performance was poor yesterday, if the Skins let him go off to free agency, we are going to suck HARD for another 5 years.

Critical play came during the first Redskins' possession of the game. 2nd down pass over the middle to Reed. Reed caught it a yard short of the first down and instead of bowling ahead for an easy first down, he tried to make a move and lost another half yard. Skins failed to convert on 3rd down. It set the tone for the rest of the first half.

While I really wanted a win, I know they don't have the defense to go deep in the playoffs anyway. Time to build up the roster for next year.

All very true.
But #silverlining, it's nice to actually still be watching a game at the end of the season that actually means something, 2 seasons in a row.
Heck (ah heck!), the Giants finally made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

Cousins seemed to wear down over the course of the season. He can be excellent, but he can also lock onto/predetermine certain receivers and not take what the defense is giving him.

Key acquisition for the Skins has been GM Scot McCloughan - experienced with winning football (and the bottle, but sounds like he has those demons under control) and seems to have the buy-in from Snyder to keep being smart about where they spend their money. I would guess that they spend the money for Cousins and then go big after defenders in the draft and free agency. Maybe pick up Chip Kelly as the QB coach, unless Gruden feels as though he's personally responsible to coach up Cousins.

I agree. The can sign Cousins and get a d-line man not named Hainesworth easily. Draft a corner.

Sports radio is SO much more entertaining when the Redskins implode. It's been 20+ years of fun for me being a Redskin hater. Even my friends who used to give me shit for being an Eagles fan... "How many rings do the Eagles have?" have thrown up the white flag and have come to realize that the Skins are one of the worst franchises of the last 25 years. I can't remember the exact number, but I think only two or three teams in the NFL haven't been to a Conference Championship game in the last 25. Skins are one of them. Five trips to the playoffs in that timespan and two wins.
