The article quotes Sacramento Sirens WR/DB Kaitlan Reiff, who finally had to tell her dad to keep a picture of her on his desk at work so people wouldn't automatically assume she was playing in the bogus LFL. Kaitlan also had to commute to Reno to play the year the Sirens took a hiatus. There's also an oblique reference to Chicago's Sami Grisafe, a rock star who was the first girl to play in a CIF D-I game at QB. One thing the article fails to mention about Reiff is that she is currently serving as the freshman DBs coach at Loomis (CA)-Del Oro, her alma mater.

This article seems to be part of a series that also examines women kicking in the NCAA, how female coaches are influencing the NFL, and the experience of PxP announcer Beth Mowins, currently at ESPN.

Super, the reality is that female football players are not nearly as good as male football players are. I'm talking about in terms of ability distributions. It's ridiculous to talk about stuff like how much female football players make vs. how much NFL players make as though there's some kind of discrepancy there because the two things are not comparable.

If there's ever a woman who is good enough to be an NFL football player I think she should be allowed to play. But I wouldn't hold my breath over having that happen.

I apologize, SH. Read the article. They do appear to be dedicated. But why don't they practice lengthwise using two or three tennis courts instead contending with the net?

They are generally weaker, slower and less athletic than men. Short read.

Oh, and I get the hate towards the LFL - but they actually do hit hard in that league and have some athletes that can play the game.
