SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
Looking at the standings this morning, and Carolina has played 13 games while Arizona has played 18 games. I don't understand how the NHL can allow teams to be that far apart in the schedule. This means Carolina will have to play a bunch of games close together to catch up. Too brutal a sport plays many games in a short time span.

This means Arizona has already played a bunch of games close together to get ahead.
See how that works out?
They're hockey players being paid good money to play a game. I think they'll be ok. If not they should can play a pansy game like golf or nascar.
Trust me, this disparity will be there in February. And some team will have to catch up when the season has already worn them down. I can understand two or three games between the top and bottom teams, but 5 is crazy.

Yeah, that was kind of a dumb comment. Thanks to the NBA and arena schedules, the NHL can't just bulldoze through a schedule to have everyone play equal games throughout the year. Caps just came off a three games in four nights stint. Canes do have four back to backs coming up before the end of December.

The Canes get screwed at the end of March. 9 games in 15 days.

Caps play 11 games in 19 days at that time.
You have to remember that the NHL changed their schedules to give each team a break in the middle of their seasons. That means more games over less time. Looking at the Caps schedule, they play an awful lot of every other day stretches. I don't recall this in past seasons. Starting tonight...
Fri, Nov 10 vs Pittsburgh
Sun, Nov 12 vs Edmonton
Tue, Nov 14 @ Nashville
Thu, Nov 16 @ Colorado
Sat, Nov 18 vs Minnesota
Mon, Nov 20 vs Calgary
Wed, Nov 22 vs Ottawa
Fri, Nov 24 vs Tampa Bay
Sat, Nov 25 @ Toronto
15-18 games in, the Metropolitan Division is close. 1st through 8th is separated by 2 points (18-20 points) with 9th having 15 points in 14 games (Carolina). Devils started out the year by winning 9 of 11 have lost their last 4 (2 in OT or SO) for 20 points and the Rangers who lost 7 of their first 8 (2 in OT/SO) have won their last 5 to get back to 18 points and get Edmonton this afternoon.
Vegas doing impressively well through 16 games (21 points for 2nd in the Pacific) in their inaugural season even though they are on their 4th goalie due to injuries.
