Brady has gotten to throw to Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron "I'll Kill You" Hernandez, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Deion Branch, and Troy Brown. And has mostly had at least one of those guys at the same time. Again, the best Flacco had was Ray Rice and then both Steve Smith and Anquan Boldin in retirement years. Brady's WR's (many who were good/great before Brady - Moss, Branch, and Brown have more receptions from QB's not named Brady) are >>>>> better than Flacco's. And we haven't even gotten into the video surveillance advantage - Joe's been held back by the Ravens playing by the rules.Chizzang wrote:While you're at it:tribe_pride wrote:

If Joe were Tom he wouldn't throw 25 interceptions a year
and he'd have better pocket awareness
and he wouldn't bounce his check-down passes at the running backs feet
He'd look left before throwing right to move the safety instead of starring down his primary
But Joe's not Tom...

That's a whole bunch of really weak sauce...
and doesn't respond to anything I asked above - like bounced check down passes and looking off the safety
Things that Wentz (like Brady) already has figured out in year 2
and to prove how bad your point is
Troy Brown couldn't make any NFL roster - he was cut
Wes Welker was let go by the Dolphins and seen as a "project"
Dion Branch went to Seattle after New England and SUCKED
Randy Moss had the worst 2 years stretch of his career before the Patriots dusted him off
Brady makes players better - you just need to deal with that actual FACT
Hating him is common but it doesn't change that fact

I'm a stats guy and I gamble on football so I pay attention to bad values and good values
Is that statement I posted in 2012 not true, Stafford has out performed Flacco in every category
To your point however:
Flacco had probably one of THE best post seasons in NFL history on that Super Bowl run
and he parlayed that into one of the NFL's worst long term contracts (or best if you're Flacco)
However: The guy did a great service to all QB's in the NFL
I'm not sure how you're taking my post from 2012 as hate..?
It's fact / not hate
Here's an example:
There's a metric out there for QB's that is essentially Q.Points per 100 snaps over their career
This is an accumulation of things like completions / Interceptions / TD's / First Downs / yards per snap
It's a pretty compelling way to measure QB's over long spans of time
Quality Points per 100 Snaps Flacco 11.1 Stafford 23.3
The Average Starting NFL QB is 18.00 points per 100 snaps
Carson Wentz right now is a 28.3 per 100 snaps (Holy cow!)
Jeezus man that's not even competitive right there
It's not about HATE... Tell me what's to like about Flacco..?

First rookie quarterback to win two playoff games
Most wins by a quarterback in first six seasons: 62 (regular season only)
Most wins by a quarterback in first seven seasons: 72 (regular season only)
Second-most combined regular and postseason wins in first three years as a quarterback: 36 (tied with Dan Marino)
First quarterback to start and win a playoff game in each of his first five seasons(Russell Wilson tied record)
Most touchdowns in a postseason: 11 (tied with Joe Montana and Kurt Warner)
Most touchdowns without an interception in a postseason: 11 (tied with Joe Montana)
First quarterback to have a passer rating over 100 in all four games of a single postseason
Most consecutive playoff games with at least two passing touchdowns: 8
Most consecutive playoff games with at least three passing touchdowns: 3 (tied with Bernie Kosar, Kurt Warner, and Aaron Rodgers)
Most consecutive road playoff games with at least one passing touchdown: 7 (tied with Donovan McNabb and Brett Favre)
Most consecutive road playoff games with at least two passing touchdowns: 5
Fastest quarterback to record five touchdowns in a game: 16:03
Most road playoff wins for a quarterback: 7 (tied with Eli Manning)
Stafford has been to the playoffs 3 times and lost all three. But you're right, if you're playing Fantasy Football, Stafford is your guy.

Rings are the goal but they don't tell the whole story. Was Dilfer better than Marino? Flacco was a very good QB early in his career but was has he done lately? Some of that is/was the team around him but some of it is him. Great QBs make their teammates better.GannonFan wrote:Chizz doesn't care about rings - he's out buying a Tyrod Taylor jersey as we speak.93henfan wrote:

And as GF correctly mentioned, they've never surrounded him with weapons, so he has never had bling stats, save for the playoffs in their Super Bowl season. The Ravens have always been a defense-first team.
Meanwhile, Joe has more money than any of us here will ever have in ten lifetimes and a Super Bowl ring and MVP trophy. I think he'll manage.

Re: RE: Re: Joe Flacco's next contract..
Of course Dilfer wasn't better than Marino. But even when talking about the ring, there's more than just being on the team that won it. Dilfer has as many rings as Flacco but Flacco earned his - look again, first (and I think only) QB ever to have over 100 passing rating in four games in the same postseason, and that included winning the Super Bowl (think his passer rating in that Super Bowl is still in the top 10 of all time). Dilfer was along for the ride, while Flacco was driving the bus.93henfan wrote:Ask the man himself. As for Marino and this "great QB's make their teammates better", that's a fun saying that means very little. Are you saying that Jerry Rice wouldn't have still been great if Montana and Young weren't throwing to him? As for Marino, he's a perfect example. He came into the league and could throw to guys like Duper and Clayton and he had a formidable offensive line in front of him. When the Dolphins failed to restock those positions, Marino found himself behind a weak offensive line and throwing to OJ McDuffie (who would still be a significant upgrade over anything Flacco has had to throw to).

I thought we made clear, he was elite for sure for two months in early 2013. He certainly isn't now. Who has hurt feelings? We Delaware alumni are rightfully proud of the two great NFL QBs we've produced in Gannon and Flacco. Has any other FCS school had such success with NFL QBs?Chizzang wrote:I'm not the one paying Joe Flacco $34,000,000.00 to be awful

and yes, the feelings are obviously hurt (tuck rule... *cough) based on the ferocity of the defense of mediocrity
Question No.1 who's Gannon..?
Is he the guy in the Brady highlights..?

So what, are we going to base every QB comparison to Brady? Sure, Brady's going to beat every one. He's the greatest ever. I don't disagree. You picked a great team/player to front-run with. Which team will you pick next after Brady retires?

But seriously, have you decided who your next team will be after Brady retires? There are a bunch of teenage boy relatives of mine who adopted Brady and the Pats and they're going to need to know who to root for next. If you could tip me, I'd be much obliged.
