Oh...that's right: It is in a country that has the amenities for such an event...not like China or Russia or Brazil or some other shithole country where they need to build a venue for the games that will be vacant the day the games end.

I'm getting psyched for it. Apparently there's an Olympic Sports channel on my Fios lineup now and I've been watching various Olympic qualifiers - curling, bobsledding, speed skating, and even watched a couple of minutes of biathalon last night. Always fun - I think the Winter Olympics are better viewing than the Summer.

Not even close. If it weren't for Phelps and Bolt, I'm not sure I would have watched more than a minute of the summer games the last few years.

I can watch ski jumping, curling, bobsled, luge, hockey, speed skating... all day.

There's too many heats for too many similar events in the Summer Games. Track seems to go on forever before there's a medal race. The Summer games do have field hockey, so that's fun to watch, but I can watch Eve Muirhead skipper the Great Britain curling team all night.
