Minnesota is getting an annual PGA Tour event, starting in 2019. Sounds like a June or July possibility. Been a long time a coming.

Strib Link

The 3M Open, previously a Champions Tour event, will be moving to the PGA Tour. A seven-year contract has been signed to play the tournament at the TPC Twin Cities course in Blaine.

Forty-nine years ago next month Dave Stockton walked off the 18th green at Braemar Golf Course after finishing third in the Minnesota Golf Classic and addressed some of the groans that the tournament’s future was in jeopardy.

Nice, we're losing ours in DC. I can't recall if you're getting our spot, or some place in Michigan.

Originally they were saying it would replace Houston, but Houston moved to the fall.

No sponsor name; No sponsor.

Trust me, this will get worse. With television commercials becoming less effective because of cord cutting, companies must come up with other ways to advertise. There will be sponsor patches on pro team uniforms within 10 years.

They have had the 3M Championship here since 2001 for the Seniors. That tourney will end, and the 3M name will go with the new PGA event. Sounds better than Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Open.

I was looking at it more as transparency. Then we know who is paying each candidate.

Think about it - politicians with micro LED enabled suits with realtime Bluetooth/wifi connection to contribution databases so their suits show the logos of their campaign contributors scaled by total size of donations. A visual indicator of how big of whores they really are.

That's easy, they all are. The real question is who is paying each one to do it.
