Correct, except that gritty has this pedophiliac quality to him
I love it... absolutely captures Philly in a "WTF DO YOU CARE" sort of way

The latest Twitter craze in Philly is filming showing your kids Gritty for the first time on your smartphone.
Many young tears have been shed this week.

What’s the under on when they feed Gritty to the Zamboni?

If the Flyers win the Cup this season, Gritty will still be around after we're gone.
If the Flyers are 9-11 after 20 games, Gritty may be unemployed.

Yup, this thing is so bad it borders on being awesome as a result. And if the Flyers have a successful year it will hang around. I like it, better to be absurd and talked about than be boring and ignored.

If it had a voice I'm picturing Red Dog from Almost Famous who was played by the kid who was Scut Farkas in A Christmas Story.

That mascot somehow reminds me of Toomgis....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Philly doesn't often have championship teams, but we now get to claim the #1 and #2 mascots in all of sports. It ain't much, but we'll take it.

Whatever happened to the San Diego Chicken? Heroin overdose? He was #1 once, but his success was fleeting. Sort of the James Dean of mascots.

Chicken was number one. Chicken lost it—turned in his wings. Philly guys are number one.
