The latest Twitter craze in Philly is filming showing your kids Gritty for the first time on your smartphone.

Yup, this thing is so bad it borders on being awesome as a result. And if the Flyers have a successful year it will hang around. I like it, better to be absurd and talked about than be boring and ignored.

Whatever happened to the San Diego Chicken? Heroin overdose? He was #1 once, but his success was fleeting. Sort of the James Dean of mascots.
