Never seen anything like it - shame too, ruined what was going to be a good game. Zion played all of 30 seconds before this happened.

Apparently cheap sneakers were called Jeepers in NYC. Bobos in some other places. In Slower DE we called them Maypops. The song went:

Maypops, just a dollar ninety-nine,
Maypops, they make your feet feel fine.

I wore Maypops until I moved up in social standing and got my first pair of Keds in 5th grade. Then I got my first pair of Nikes, Cortez's in black with silver swoosh, in 8th grade. I loved those GD things.

I honestly can't remember an alternative name for shoes. The first pair of Nike's I remember having were these when I was about 5 or 6...minus the gay laces of course...

OMG that's a great website. Yes Duke did play well @ the Cuse Saturday but it's simple. With Zion they're the favorites to win it all, without him they may not be in the conversation.

And? That's the case with likely any of their big 4 players (Barrett, Zion, Reddish, or the point guard). Duke isn't very deep, if they lose one of their starters they're in trouble with regards to winning a national title. Same could be said for virtually most of the national title contenders as well. Healthy teams tend to do better than unhealthy teams.
