Ridiculous. Three takeaways:

1. That stadium will see a new record for combined HRs hit in a season. Worst pitcher’s park in baseball.
2. Nola looks like he’s lost velocity and location.
3. Bullpen is a dumpster fire.

Hellickson vs Pivetta tonight.

I hear they're giving out helmets and facemasks to all fans with outfield bleacher seats.

So I'm in the car this morning and they're talking about Soto's big HR and I figured they were talking about another game. When Stras gave up 6 I turned it off and never went back. Shame on me.

We already covered that. Some of us were live-posting. That was an epic bullpen collapse. The Natinals scored the final 8 runs. Kapler forked up every pitching decision after inning 6.

Well, on the bright side, I could turn off the game tonight really early. If you're going to lose, lose it in style like the Phils did tonight. Better than waiting until 2 strikes in the 9th to lose it. Sucks if you had tickets for tonight but that's how it goes.

They get the cure for the blues this weekend...the Marlins.

God bless 'em.

9-1 win and Phils improve to 8-4. Half a game back of the Mets with a game in hand.

Arrieta goes 7 strong innings, 108 pitches, 1 run allowed, and gets his 100th win.

14 hits. Every starter but Arrieta with a hit. Cutch with a blast to left-center.

Loved the trumpeters playing the Rocky theme in the Florida crowd.

Phillies lay a steaming turd against the worst team in the East. Eflin shelled. Fire Kapler.

Segura hits 2-run bomb in 14th to lead Phils over Fish, 3-1. First road series win of the year.

Mutts come to town tomorrow.

A quick observation -

Harper's bat has cooled a bit, but that SOB is hustling. Taking extra bases, blowing through stop signs and scoring runs...

That's the kind of stuff I like to see. Effort.

I had to actually get some sleep last night, but I read that the Phils hung 8 on the Mets before they got their first out and it was only something like the third team it's happened to since Teddy Roosevelt was President.

Phils sneak out a win in the rubber game against the Mets to take another series and they're off to Colorado for a four game set with a 1.5 lead in first place right now. Pitching hasn't been great (although Arrietta looks very good) and now some injuries (Segura with a hammy last night and Herrera with a hammy as well today) so they'll have to weather that. Pretty good start, I'll take 11-6 and only losing one series so far (and they swept one so that makes up for it).

Maybe they'll get Mike Minor. They need arms badly.

Phils now playing .500 ball in their last ten games after dropping 3 of 4 to the Rockies. Luckily, the rest of the NL East is also playing .500 or worse over the same period, so it doesn't really matter that much.

Harper doing his best to help usher in the the robo ump.

Btw, ESPN's robo ump said the ball that K'ed him was indeed a strike. The one that got him ejected from the dugout was a ball.

Apparently Harper sees the ball better from 75 ft away.

Phils in their first certified slump of the year, losing 5 of 6.

Pitching and fielding are atrocious and now they have cold bats to match.

At least the Sixers game was on last night - worst game of the young season by the Phillies - mailed it in.
