I will leadoff with a couple.

1980 Miracle on Ice. This has to be near the top of all lists. An amateur US hockey team beating the USSR and going on to win the gold.

1969 Mets, out of nowhere they come to win the World Series

Bob Beamon 29 foot leap in the 1968 Olympics.

1964 Phillies had a 6.5 game lead with 12 games to play on September 20th. They lost 10 straight games and finished in a tie for 2nd with the Reds. Cardinals won the pennant and the World Series.

2001 Diamondbacks winning the world series in just their 5th year of existence.

Last 30 game winner, Denny McLain grooves one for Mantle during his 31st win. Catcher was Jimmy Price, not Freehan.
