By my nonprofessional analysis I'd say he's out performed his circumstances by a wide margin
no matter what happens this season

Not sure about "wide margin" but he has done better than one can reasonably expect under the circumstances.
I know injuries are part of the "game", but they have been hit with key injuries during his tenure at positions where they lack depth. That's a killer.

They're slightly above .500 in his tenure
5 years of .500 got John Harbaugh a contract extension in Baltimore

Should have won six with the super elite Flacco at QB. :coffee:

He's beaten them in the playoffs in Foxboro. Twice.

I know that irritates the shit out of a bandwagon Pats fan, which is awesome. He'll have to start looking for a new team to cling to soon.

Harbaugh is a good coach...
I just poked at him because I knew we'd get some sparks back
The truth of it is - and nobody will like this but it's true - and Biscotti said as much out loud

When they made Joe Flacco the highest paid player in the NFL they lost critical flexibility
in their roster management and scope of player performance vs dollars

Harbaugh did about as well any anybody could have done under those circumstances

Certainly a great coach.
But Joe Gibbs won 3 SB's with three different QB's.

On that note
I think that one of the greatest accomplishments in NFL history is Brian Billick
winning a Superbowl with Trent Dilfer at QB

I'm curious about your thoughts on Kirk Cousins in Minnesota now days
You're a Redskins guy - you saw him play every Sunday for years

Does it surprise you that he went 0-5 against teams with winning records in Minnesota ..?
and Minnesota is supposed to have a great coaching staff

Note:
he's 5-25 career against teams with winning records

Dilfer would have been an elite QB if he ever once had any talent around him, very cerebral and great arm.

Shows what you know about QB talent. The only reason they won that superbowl was because of Dilfer

Dude, that's a perfectly fine opinion
But even Trent Dilfer said he was the worst position player on that Ravens team

and for the record:
Career 55% completion percentage is not very good by any standard
with more career interceptions than touchdowns - which is also a bit of a red flag

and as a matter of fact:
he was on a very talented Tampa Bay team in 1999 (They were fucking loaded)
and he wasn't very good even surrounded by that loaded roster
(aren't 4 guys on that 1999 roster in the HOF)

To me, Cousins is a lot like Romo. It took a long time for me to put him in the "gunslinger" category but that is pretty much what he is. I've seen him win games with some throws, and I have seen him lose games with some throws.

But, with that said, I'm a firm believer that football is the ultimate team sport and that it takes a large sample size (that includes different teams and/or different teammates/coaches) to determine how good a QB is. Cousins is now in the sweet spot of his career. If he is a good QB, he should win at least 30 games over the next 3 years, figuring that he would be the difference with at least a .500 team around him.

That's why I said probably. You can argue for Gibbs, Walsh, Lombardi, etc.

Tom Brady wants to win Superbowls and he's willing to forgo salary to improve his team's chances.

The move opens up an additional $5.5 million in cap space, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter

The Patriots had roughly $7.5 million in space prior to the new deal
Now that have enough money to acquire left tackle Trent Williams, who is rumored to be on the trading block.

There's no doubt that Tom Brady's financial security and flexibility (long career, wife who makes more than he does, more money from endorsements than NFL salary) is yet another nice advantage that the Pats have enjoyed during their run. Throw in the rampant cheating and the terrible division with automatic bye almost every year, and lots of good things happen. It's a great situation to be in and they've capitalized on it. Who can fault them for picking low-hanging fruit?

Well, the Iggles laid a steaming turd out there last night. Gotta play all the wannabes and sift through the herd. No reps for Wentz. Sudfeld looked OK.

Yeah, other than the broken wrist.

The guys who looked good last night were Dillard and Arecega-Whiteside.

Redskins-Browns takeaways: Rookie Jimmy Moreland stands out
Jimmy Moreland makes strong first impression:
The Redskins’ defense made plenty of mistakes, but coordinator Greg Manusky had to love what he saw from rookie cornerback Jimmy Moreland. On three consecutive plays from just outside Washington’s end zone in the first quarter, the seventh-round pick out of James Madison broke up a fade, knocked down a slant pass and forced a fumble by Browns running back Dontrell Hilliard on fourth and goal. The 5-foot-11, 182-pound Moreland, who has faced questions about his size and physicality, forced another fumble to prevent a touchdown in the third quarter when he chased down wide receiver Ishmael Hyman, his former college teammate, and shook off a stiff-arm before jarring the ball loose.

https://beta.washingtonpost.com/sports/ ... utType=amp
https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/re ... ine-series

5 tackles, 3 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles. Not a bad debut in less than a full game. He already had made 5 picks in OTAs, 3 off Haskins in 1 day...Already talk of him starting at the nickel.
