NFL 2019 Season

I'll open with this:
“What kind of team allows a GM to make a franchise-shaping decision with the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft and then fires him three weeks later? What kind of business allows an employee to hand out $125 million in contracts and then hands him a pink slip before any of them actually show up for a meaningful day of work? Only this team. Only the Jets.”

—Steve Politi, columnist, Newark Star-Ledger, on the firing of Jets GM Mike Maccagnan 18 days after the conclusion of the NFL Draft.

Can imagine how good a team could look if they got to play the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins twice each per season the past two decades? They'd probably win as many Super Bowls as the Steelers have in the past five decades.

NFL is weak unwatchable junk so I wont watch until the Patriots are in the Super Bowl again, they earn it every year.

Cant wait to hear the next made up scandal about them!

I believe The NFC East and the AFC East play each other this season...
Care to make a wager on the net total wins against each other

:coffee:

A seahawks fan friend of mine made the same observation about the NFC West and the lowly AFC East
Then when they played - the AFC East went 10-6 against his high and mighty NFC West

Non sequitur. The Redskins and Giants suck fat donkey dick and the Cowboys are only slightly better (Hi Vidav!).

Not sure what you're talking about.

Everyone knows the Patriots have benefitted from playing the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins 120 times during their dynasty.

I'll go out on an early limb and say the Lions won't win the Super Bowl. You heard it here first.

Damn, man. It's pretty bad when the Cleveland Browns pass you on the "Teams-that-might-finally-win-one" radar.

It's remarkable how uninformed you are
Regarding the six time Superbowl champion dynasty New England Patriots
Fun Fact:
The Patriots winning percentage is virtually identical against the AFC East and the rest of the NFL

https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patrio ... s-afc-east

Since the 2002 Re-alignment in the NFL
The Patriots are 71-19 in the AFC East. That’s a .788 winning percentage
against the rest of the NFL they are 118-32 (.786)

Facts are fun
Hyperbole is for losers

How many other teams went .788 or better in their division in the same time period?

Teams typically have a much harder time in their division than outside of it due to familiarity, as any person who knows anything about football already knows.

The fact the Patriots win 4 of every 5 games in their division only proves my point. Thanks man. :thumb:

Their record is identical across all divisions...
The patriots play .750 or better against EVERYBODY

:geek:

You have no point... don't confuse half baked hate with a point
but please continue and explain exactly how playing equally well .750 against all other 31 teams
is somehow based entirely on being in the AFC East - to which they also play .750

I anxiously await the science
but what I'm expecting is no statistical evidence and more hyperbole and misinformation

You didn't answer my question. Let me know a team that did better against their division in the same time frame. I'll wait.

And I don't hate the Patriots at all. They provided the Eagles their first Lombardi Trophy, so I'm forever grateful to them. I'm just pointing out the obvious that they start the season with 5 or 6 wins playing in that terrible division. Nobody else in football has that advantage to cruise through the regular season.

This is a worthy debate.

NDSU’s dynasty rests atop the strongest FCS conference which has for the most part dominated non-conference FCS foes and often has their #2 team’s season end by facing the Bizon in the playoffs. So iron sharpens iron.

The CAA dominated the 2000’s while facing weak OOC competition in the regular season and early playoff rounds. So the luxury of resting players, building depth, and working on schemes has an advantage too.

The Griz struggle in the chipper due to playing in the Big Fluffy.

But EWU finally gets good enough to host playoff games despite brutal OOC schedules, makes deep runs and goes 4-1 against the mighty CAA including 88-17 in their last two.

Stick to your own delusional football thread, Chucklenut.

I think enough of you to capitalize. Don't be hurt.

I'll always have that playoff win against Dallas in the early '90's though.

That's not exactly how it works
I made a statement and backed up my claim with factual statistics
you then made conjecture and backed it up with nothing - then asked me to disprove your conjecture

Example:
"Big foot exists" Sure, okay - prove it
No, you prove big foot doesn't exist

see how that doesn't really work...

My statistically proven fact is that the Patriots play everybody about .750 NFL wide without exception
For damned near 20 years straight

if you have proof to the contrary please feel free to denote that here
or create a scenario where you can prove your claim
without asking me to disprove your erroneous claim...
you must prove your claim such as I have proven mine

otherwise it's just smack talk and hater drivel

My claim is erroneous? Somebody had a better division record than the Patriots during the period in question?

Who was this mystery team that played easier division foes than the Patriots? :kisswink:

93henfan wrote:My claim is erroneous? Somebody had a better division record than the Patriots during the period in question?

nobody has a better record over that period in any scenario

no team has a better division record
no team has a better conference record
no team has a better out of division record
no team has a better out of conference record
no team has as many wins in any scenario NFL wide
Load any winning percentage scenario into the PFF calculator and it's the Patriots

accept the Steelers that have a .766 winning percentage in their division since 2002
so by your nutball analogy the Steelers should have at least 4 superbowls in that span
except they play .300 ball against the Patriots
so they get to the playoffs - and then lose to the Patriots (you'll want to write that down)

Which is where your dingbat analogy falls down
everybody plays everybody to get to the top
like the 2004 Eagles... at some point you have to play the Patriots
and the only thing that legitimizes the Eagles of 2017 is that they actually beat a real team to get there

Wow. Any more names you want to call me during your desperate flailing?

I've never once said the Patriots are bad, because obviously they have been great. And of course, they've been a major beneficiary of the 5 or 6 automatic wins playing the worst division foes in football during that span. Jets, Bills, Dolphins. Those are six of their games every year. It can never be stated enough. Division games are landmines in every other division except that one.

Take a deep breath and relax. I won this round. So did you. Nobody was incorrect.

as expected you got nothing...
and when the AFC East plays the NFC East we'll revisit your nothing

Would you like to measure the AFC East stats against all other NFL opponents..?

and divert to other topics... like the Steelers wining .750 in their division
and again not going to the superbowl as your theory insists they must - but they don't

I can't express how much i'm enjoying your NFL flatulence

You still haven't answered my simple question:

Which team has had an easier time in their division than the Patriots?

Still waiting.

You got nothing. You never do. All talk. As usual.

Jets
Bills
Dolphins

That's hot.
