I actually kinda like the NFL TD celebrations. Definitely enjoy the dugout HR antics/traditions in MLB too.

When you say “we” you mean “you”

“We” don’t celebrate any such thing.

In the last World Cup that one player pulled off her jersey and ran around in her sports bra when they beat the Chinese- and most people didn’t have a huge problem with it. I know I didn’t - that was celebrating a win
Last World Cup?

Try 20 years ago. Chastain beat the Chinks in 1999.
Whatever.

That was 4 years ago in old dude years

Late to the party here, but I had an enjoyable time watching the USWNT win another WC. I don't have a problem with the celebrations, I loved the tea sipping taunt. Fuck England, don't lose the game (or the Revolutionary War, or depend on our asses to bail you out in 2 WW's) if you don't want to see American exceptionalism on display.

Not getting the issues with Rapinoe. She's obnoxious, bombastic, and most importantly she wins...kinda like our President. America should embrace her ridiculous antics. 8-)

Ashlyn Harris Says Jaelene Hinkle Left USWNT Because Of Homophobia, Not Christianity

Harris was responding to a viral tweet featuring a 2018 video of Hinkle talking to the Christian Broadcasting Network. In the video, the current North Carolina Courage defender talked about how she was invited to join the USWNT, but withdrew after learning she would have to wear a jersey featuring rainbow lettering in support of the LGBTQ community during Pride month.

It's homophobia.

Not all Christians are anti-gay. One can be pro-LGBT and Christian (actually, if you are anti-LGBT, you are going against Christ's teachings)

I have a question for dback.

What does “Q” add to “LGBT” ? Isn’t Q redundant? I always thought “queer” was a term that gays and lesbians (but not straights) used collectively to describe themselves, as in “Queer Studies” departments at colleges.

Agree.
But there is the little issue of forcing everyone to wear the rainbow jerseys.
Would this be like a Japanese MLB player forced to wear Red, White, and Blue socks and hat on July 4th?

Bullshit. US Soccer is making a political statement by having "Pride" jerseys. Making them compulsory attire is forcing the players to promote a political (and moral) view with which they might not agree.

I have known it to mean "Questioning" - someone that may not feel they fit into Gay/Bi/Lesbian, but don't feel they are 100% straight, either.

Nothing wrong with wearing Pride Jerseys - hell, half the team in gay.

And what would be wrong with your cousin wearing Red White and Blue on July 4th? He's playing in America.

Foreign players have American Flag patches on their jerseys

So you want the uniforms they wear in a game to be optional. got it.

And SHE made it political.

Yeah, that would be my argument too - League's home country.

What about PETA jerseys?

So the woman exercised her freedom to do whatever the fvck she wants and gets told its because she’s afraid of gays

It’s eerily like kneeling for the National Anthem and having other people tell you why you’re kneeling, isn’t it?
