Hockey is boring. It's like a faster version of men's lacrosse, which is also boring. I'm sure people would come out for the parade, but it's a niche sport.bluehenbillk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 7:07 am Is there not a Flyers thread? You’re crazy on both counts! I guess you just don’t like fast sports.GannonFan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 8:01 amHockey is boring. It's like a faster version of men's lacrosse, which is also boring. I was only partially kidding about ice hockey - I could use a lot more scoring but it's a good sport. It's like soccer on ice, same plus and minuses to it. Sometimes it's just sloppy though - puck takes weird bounces and a lot of passes miss the mark. When it's played crisply it's fun to watch. Lacrosse on the other hand, I simply just don't get it. And I had season tickets for the Philadelphia Wings at one point when they had the Gait brothers and Marachek playing for them. It's just a pretty boring sport with little strategy. And it almost all comes down to having a great face off guy. You do that, along with sticking a guy behind the net to claim any missed shots, and you're on offense the whole time. I can't think of many more boring things other than watching men's college lacrosse.

Living in close proximity to a very good D-III lacrosse program, I’m hooked. Indoor lacrosse is no comparison.GannonFan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:47 amI was only partially kidding about ice hockey - I could use a lot more scoring but it's a good sport. Heck, I think outdoor lacrosse is even more boring - at least indoor had a little contact. Best thing about outdoor lacrosse is the walk you get to and from the field and being outdoors on a nice day. And even then lacrosse screws that up by starting the season in the frigid cold of February when no one wants to be outside for that long.Ivytalk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 10:00 amLiving in close proximity to a very good D-III lacrosse program, I’m hooked. Nah, I'm not even 50 yet and I hate spending too much time in the cold. And that was before I went keto and dropped 25 lbs. I lost my layer of fat that was keeping me warm. I'm going to be one of those old people who travel in the winter just so I can get to warmer climates. Not a Florida person, too many old people there, but I'll frequently be leaving the Philly area around winter time.Ivytalk wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 10:07 amSpeak for yourself.
