You'll still be invited to the parade, no worries. 8-)
I wouldn't make the trip for a Sixers parade, honestly. They're the one of the major four I'm not truly passionate about. I've been to Phillies and Eagles parades. Gimme a Flyers and I can die happy.

I'd be all over a Sixers parade. It wouldn't be as big as the Eagles one obviously, and might eclipse the Phillies one, but at least it would be nice weather. I think we were standing in place for 6 hours for the Eagles one and it was pretty cold that day. For the Flyers, heck, they could be at least a decade away from winning the Cup. That could be a wait.

There's no way a Sixers parade would be as big as the Phillies parade was, let alone the Eagles.

The Eagles parade was be all/end all epic in every way. That was a five mile parade route from SOuth Philly stadium complex to the Art Museum. The Nats, by comparison, went 11 blocks.

I actually said it wouldn't be as big as the Eagles parade. But I could see the Sixers parade being bigger than the Phillies parade. The younger generation really likes NBA basketball, not to mention the population of color in Philly. The Phillies haven't always had that particular following in large numbers, where the Sixers do.

Sixers are maturing, although they have to do better on the road. A year ago, they would have found a way to totally blow that big 4th-quarter lead against the Raptors and lose the game. This time, they held on to win by 7. There have been fewer such chokes this year.

They match up well against everyone they could play in the East in the playoffs except for maybe the Bucks, and we'll see on Christmas what that looks like. If they enter the playoffs healthy, the Sixers are maybe the one team no one wants to play. I'd like them to be awesome all the time, win 70 games, and cruise through the playoffs, but I'll take a long playoff run that gets at least to the Finals, if not a parade.

Underwhelming home effort against the woeful Pelicans tonight, but the Sixers pulled it out. Now 14-0 at Wells Fargo.

It's the NBA, teams mail it in often during the season, especially during load managements. Heck, the Clippers find a way to lose to the Bulls (but Kawahi was on load management) and the Sixers lose to the Nets in the same weekend as Embiid was basically on load management. There's a reason they are seriously considering drastic changes to the NBA regular season - it's one long exhibition season until they get serious come playoff time.

First home loss of the season last night. Sixers board posters want to ride Brett Brown out of town on a rail!

Took way too long to adjust to the Heat going zone in the second quarter. They had it solved by the 4th quarter but by then the damage was done. It's strange, Brown can come up with great in bounds play but looks incompetent at times just running an offense. If firing Brown would get the focus of the players on the floor without rupturing the team I'd be all for it.

Nah, it ain't over till it's over. Sixers are just going to take the hard road through the playoffs. Heck, you're going to have teams jockey not to be the 3 seed because you'd have to play Philly in the first round. Playoffs are a different animal, and the Sixers are clearly a team that has a switch - a switch that is currently in the off position.

With all that said, anything less than a Finals trip this year and Brett Brown should rightfully be shown the door. And if things aren't vastly improved by this time next year it's time to shop Embiid - heck, I'd pull an Embiid for Curry straight up deal if it was to be had.

Not in the NBA. Your chance of making the Finals are almost zero if you're not a 1 or 2 seed.

Is there not a Flyers thread? Unthinkable as they're the closest thing the city has to title hopes.

Sixers need to blow it up again. Trade Embiid and Simmons. The process failed.

Why belabor it at this point?

It's like Delaware Football with Rocco. How many times do you have to see failure to know there's not a championship in sight?

Organizations that can cut bait quickly and move on get a head start on hope.

Eh, it's on pause right now. The only thing that matters is the playoffs. If Simmons and Embiid are healthy by then then we'll assess.
