Re: NLCS
I don't see how this goes less than 6 games.
I'll go Nats in 7.

Re: NLCS
Well, 89, no matter what happens to the Nats, Warshington can take pride in its WNBA champion Mystics. Led by UD’s own Elena DelleDonne.

I could get behind the WC getting HFA if:89Hen wrote:A rather unexpected twist in the NL. I get win your division, but it almost seems unfair that Nats are on the road with a better record than the Cards.
1. Better record, and
2. Won head-to-head series
3. Excluding teams from Boston.

Actually watched the last 5 minutes of the game. Pretty cool that they have their own arena and it was full. BTW, her post game interview may have been one of the best cliche filled interview of all time.Ivytalk wrote:Well, 89, no matter what happens to the Nats, Warshington can take pride in its WNBA champion Mystics. Can't wait for the parade.

Re: NLCS
The Nationals got a big boost from Anibal Sanchez last night. The guy just keeps hanging in there as a solid 3 or 4 starter. I thought he was done 3 years ago.

How good was that Tigers starting staff. Sanchez, Verlander, Portcello and Scherzer.AshevilleApp wrote:The Nationals got a big boost from Anibal Sanchez last night. The guy just keeps hanging in there as a solid 3 or 4 starter. I thought he was done 3 years ago.

Good enough that Porcello was the number 5 starter, with Fister being number 4.Gil Dobie wrote:How good was that Tigers starting staff. The second game of the 2013 ALCS still haunts me.

Re: NLCS
Through 16 innings during this series, St. Louis hasn't scored a run.

Two interesting stats on ESPN radio this morning:
Since 2006, the team to clinch the league series first has only won two world series.
Of the eight teams that have swept the league series, only one won the world series.

Re: NLCS
That was a little disheartening, but the one team that did it was the Braves with Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz. They were reliant on starting pitchers who appreciate the rest and can go about their normal routine. My guess without looking is the seven teams that lost their bats went dead and/or made fielding errors.93henfan wrote:Two interesting stats on ESPN radio this morning:

It worked out better for the Nats as they completed the sweep at home, rather than on the road...89Hen wrote:A rather unexpected twist in the NL. I get win your division, but it almost seems unfair that Nats are on the road with a better record than the Cards.
