Major League Baseball's All-Star game, which features the game's biggest stars and an economic boost of roughly $60 million, is coming to downtown Phoenix in July 2011.
Commissioner Bud Selig is expected to make the official announcement at a 12:30 p.m. news conference Saturday at Chase Field.
Arizona Diamondbacks Chief Executive Derrick Hall, who has lobbied the commissioner for the game the past four years, Managing General Partner Ken Kendrick, Gov. Jan Brewer, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon and other civic leaders are scheduled to join Selig for the announcement.

I am surprised they did not get 2010. I am sure it was picked a while ago, but you figure that they would get it instead of Angels Stadium.
It might be
2011 - chase
2012 - fenway (100yrs)
2013 - citi/target
2014 - target/wrigley (100yrs)
2015 - marlins ballpark/citi
If they do back to back years for some anniversaries... Also, I do not think they will skip citi for that long.

Supposedly, they didn't get it sooner because Colangelo didn't act like an expansion owner and suffer through years of last place finishes. Plus he insisted on being a National League team when baseball wanted the D-Backs in the American League. Thank God for Jerry.

Normally yes, but in 2006/07 they played back to back NL All Star games. If they want to celebrate both teams 100, which I think they would, they would do the back-to-backs to get through 2014.
