Anyone check out the putz running the field at Dodger Stadium? Stupid security idiots couldn't get him until he was laid out by the ball girl. SMH....

Dude had some speed and the security guards were just arm tackling. I don't understand the kudos to the ball girl, in the end she didn't really do anything. Kudos on the initiative to get involved, but she was a non-factor.

Stupid Dodger fans. That’s all they can do for celebrity nowadays.

Gotta say that Fox did a good job with the Field of Dreams game last night.

But Costner still seems bored with this. I thought he was under-enthusiastic in the 25 year "reunion" special and was still that way this week. He showed nothing close to the energy he had IN the movie. WTF? :ohno:

Costner said "shit" on live network TV in the pregame and rambled incessantly. I wonder if Alzheimer's and early onset dementia run in his family. He's borderline Bidenesque at this point.

Good point, 93. And even in Costner’s salad days, he never came across as energetic, as Ray Kinsella or otherwise. He may have been the worst Robin Hood ever (mis)cast. And Waterworld.

Tyler Gilbert of the Diamondbacks no-hits the Padres in his first major league start. How about that, dback? :thumb:

A wasted gem in a wasted season.

diamondbacks are something like 36-80. They were 15-13 at one point. That means they’ve gone 21-67 since then. That’s got to be some kind of record for futility. They’ll be lucky to win 50 games.

Ohtani just hit the 40 HR mark (a 430-ft solo shot)...on a night he pitched 8 innings with 8 Ks and 0 BBs, reducing his ERA to 2.79 and improving his record to 8-1. Amazing that this is happening on a .500 team. I also find it crazy that they lifted Ohtani at that point having only thrown 90 pitches. While I'm not a fan of pitch count as a reason for removing a pitcher, letting him finish the game would have allowed the bullpen a rest. Also wondering why one would bat a known power hitter leadoff (There IS precedent in Rickey Henderson, but that had more to do with Henderson's legs than his bat. I haven't heard much about Ohtani's ability to steal.) The Angels did win 3-1....

You sure? One guy with over 4K hits isn't in...and MLB is WAY off base for that....

It's almost unfair how good Shohei Ohtani is. You can add ultimate base thief to his already stellar resume. He stole home Tuesday night (as part of a double steal) against the Evil Empire, upping his Angels-best total to 21 (he leads the Angels by double digits).

In an era where thievery has almost disappeared because teams just get a man on and then sit and wait for the jack (thanks to that dummy Bruce Bochy), this is VERY impressive....

Good speech by Derek Jeter at the induction ceremony yesterday. (Oh, and fuck the yankees.) ;)

In other news, Miguel Cabrera has hits in 7 consecutive at bats. If they played Pittsburgh for the rest of the season, he could reach 3,000 hits this year.

Yes. He and Mike Trout seem destined to toil in obscurity, though, for their MLB careers as the Angels are again going to be watching others play come playoff time.
