Miguel Cabrera enters the season needing 134 hits to reach 3,000 and 13 home runs to reach 500. It is now 133 and 12.

Holy cow I knew he hit a lot of HR's but didn't realize he was that prolific of a hitter....he should easily reach those numbers this year.

Holy cow I knew he hit a lot of HR's but didn't realize he was that prolific of a hitter....he should easily reach those numbers this year.
A few years back I'd have completely agreed. But he has slumped some in the past few seasons, much of it due to health problems. If he stays healthy this year, he has a good shot.

Yes the last three years have not been kind to him. They are projecting him for 16 HR’s and 129 hits....

I hope he makes it this year, after a few tough seasons. Best career average for active players, 4 batting titles. He's second on a lot of other active list, probably to Pujols.
