Didn't expect all 3 series to end last night as all 3 road teams won to close out each series. Now only the T'wolves are left as a possible Game 7. As we've seen, anything is possible with this T-Wolves team, so it could be really good or really bad. Kinda depends which way the wind is blowing.

I was NOT impressed with the Suns performance against NO, Jon. Not impressed in the least. They bring THAT game to the next series and they’ll be watching the rest of the playoffs from their pool cabanas….

I think New Orleans is better than Dallas.

New Orleans started the season 3-16. Then turned it around, and then added CJ. Plus with Coach Willie Green (former Suns assistant) knowing everything about the Suns, it was a tough series. Then add the best player in the league missing most of game 2, all of games 3, 4 , 5 and limited in 6.

I'm with Jon, I wouldn't worry as much about Dallas. I would be worried about facing Golden State in the conference finals though, and if they get through that I'd be worried about a matchup against Boston in the Finals, if that's the team that comes out of the East (I think Phoenix matches up better against the other 3 in the East - still a tough go, but better matchup-wise).

Pelicans are better without Zion. He'd have slowed them down. $10 they try to trade him in the off-season.

Well, he doesn’t want to be there, so that doesn’t help their position.

Timberwolves were outmatched tonight. Memphis had over 20 more rebounds and shot 45% from 3 pt line. It wasn't must Ja, he had plenty of help.

Wolves just need to learn how to close out these types of games. Once they do that, they'll be fine. They just can't let the game be bigger than it is. Playoff basketball is much more intense than regular season basketball. They had Memphis' number all series, but the Grizzlies would make a run late and the Wolves would wilt. They will learn from this series and be better next time.

I'm not really following the NBA much, but I was surprised just now to see that the first round actually went completely according to Hoyle. The Play-In Round ALMOST did, too, as the 9 seeds both took out the 8 seeds...which isn't really all that big an upset. The big surprise for me is how well the 7 and 8 seeds played against the 1 and 2 seeds in the West (two wins each).

Round of 16

Western Conference

1 PHX d. 8 NO 4-2
4 DAL d. 5 UTA 4-2
3 GS d. 6 DEN 4-1
2 MEM d. 7 MIN 4-2

Eastern Conference

1 MIA d. 8 ATL 4-1
4 PHI d. 5 TOR 4-2
3 MIL d. 6 CHI 4-1
2 BOS d. 7 BKN 4-0

Quarterfinals

Western Conference

4 DAL vs. 1 PHX
3 GS vs. 2 MEM

Eastern Conference

4 PHI vs. 1 MIA
3 MIL vs. 2 BOS

Semifinals

Western Conference

DAL-PHX winner vs. GS-MEM winner

Eastern Conference

PHI-MIA winner vs. MIL-BOS winner

Finals

Nikola Jokic wins 2021-22 NBA MVP
The Nuggets with Jokic, 76ers with Embiid and Bucks with Antetokounmpo each performed at similar levels with their stars on the court in the regular season. Jokic had the least help. Despite Jamal Murray missing the entire season and Michael Porter Jr. unhelpful/sidelined all year, Jokic lifted Denver to a 48-34 record. Jokic was uniquely excellent – the best-passing center of all-time, a highly efficient scorer from all levels and an improved defender.

This will cause some bitterness in Philadelphia. Unfounded rumors last week Embiid would be named MVP only add to the disapointment.

But this result is no surprise to anyone tracking the votes. Jokic had a critical mass of support.

Well deserved! All 3 had great regular seasons.

I'd prefer Embiid to win the MVP that really matters, the NBA Finals MVP. That's still on the table.

When she’s the process start to work?

The Sacramento Kings sans Minnesota Timberwolves have made a coverage final more recently than the 76ers

4 second round exits in 5 years.

I think I'd still rather be the 76'ers over the past 5 years than the Kings or the Timberwolves. Remember, we had a good decade of mediocrity before we triggered the Process. If the NBA hadn't interfered, stopped the Process early, and foisted Colangelo Jr on us, we might have been better off. We wouldn't have had Colangelo pick Fultz over Tatum, we wouldn't have had Colangelo's wife use a series of burner phones to criticize players leading to Colangelo's firing, and we wouldn't have then had Brett Brown step into the GM role and decide that he didn't want to hurt Ben Simmons's feelings by keeping a guy like Jimmy Butler on the team so he dumped him rather than Tobias Harris. I bet Hinkie is somewhere just shaking his head at the bad decisions that followed the Process, just like most of us have done.

But we're still far more watchable and successful than the Kings and T-Wolves. :coffee:

Yeah, weak effort last night after halftime. Still have to sign Harden because they're already over the cap anyway - if you don't sign him you can't just get someone else. Trick is to convince him to sign for enough less that we can make a Harris for Beal trade. Embiid needs someone else with him and Maxey is too young (although still good) and Harden's better days are behind him, he's just more of a point guard now.

There’s a new set of excuses every single season for why the process failed, yet again.

Wake me up when it actually amounts to anything other than “we made the second round and you only make the first”
