I might be in the minority, but I liked the kinda goofy and enthusiastic personalities in sports like Madden, Dick Vitale, and Lee Corso, but Madden was better than either of the other 2 and really in a category of his own. He and Pat Sumerall have never really been replaced in my mind. RIP.

I never liked Corso, and Vitale's over-the-top nature could get on my nerves (though not all the time), but I thoroughly loved Madden. I can't explain the difference, but I even liked Madden's beer commercials, and I hate beer! LOL....Pwns wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 7:14 pm I might be in the minority, but I liked the kinda goofy and enthusiastic personalities in sports like Madden, Dick Vitale, and Lee Corso, but Madden was better than either of the other 2 and really in a category of his own. SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Is there anyone else in the past 50 years who did more to grow the game of football and expand the audience than John Madden? Phenom as a coach, legendary broadcaster, and significant contributor to the Madden EA Sports franchise that made the game as popular as it is. The NFL is what it is today thanks tremendously to John Madden.
