Kaep was mentioned as a possible QB coach, if Harbaugh had been offered the Vikings job.

Packers sign Sammy Watkins, which will help the WR shortage.

It's apparent that the Saints have already blown the '22 season by hiring that dummy Dennis Allen as HC. He's already relegated the incredible Taysom Hill to tight end. Even Drew Brees is saying that's a huge mistake. Allen blew it with the Raiders, and he's already messing up in New Orleans.

Come on, Saints ownership. Admit you made a mistake and fire Allen RIGHT NOW.

I'm all in favor of the Saints crashing. Eagles have their 1st round pick for next year and a top 10 pick would be sweet. :thumb:

How odd that for months leading up to the Draft, all the "experts" were claiming that the Whiners were about to trade WR Deebo Samuel and QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Now that the Draft is done, they're both still Whiners. I get the idea of promoting a promising QB like Mr. Bizon, but I'm still old-school enough to think it's still too soon for him. (Old school coaches held a quarterback back for four or five years to mature and learn the system, unless, of course, there was an emergency.) I also get the idea that Samuel isn't happy with how the team is deploying him. That's a much more serious problem. What I don't know is if his frustration is greed or if he really believes that he's THAT much better than the rest of the receiving corps. If it's the former, he's not a team player, and shouldn't be around. If it's the latter, then why aren't they getting him the ball? Is it as simple as defenses taking him out of play as the #1 receiver? I'm not sure. This is a situation to watch, for sure. The uncertainty isn't good for the short-term success of the franchise....

The 'Ain'ts have signed P Daniel Whelan from the Manure Pile.

If THEY can get a guy signed, why isn't anyone signing Munchie?!?

And the Raiders are officially under NFL investigation for a toxic working environment and other misconduct perpetrated by Mark Davis. One of the misconduct charges will be the illegal firing of President Dan Ventrelle after he reported these violations to the League. The Raiders, and Davis himself, naturally say nothing happened.

It's preseason for the officials, too. I can't believe how they missed such a blatant targeting call against Jacksonville near the end of the first half.

And McDaniels should work on his challenge mechanics. He called a time out THEN threw the red flag. He's risking losing TWO time outs like that. Just throw the red flag, Dude! (Fortunately, the challenge held up, so he only lost the one time out he actually called....)

Washington Commanders rookie RB Brian Robinson has been shot several times in a carjacking or robbery at about 1800 local time today. He is reported in stable condition. Police are searching for two juvenile suspects. Robinson is a third round pick out of Alabama. He recorded over 1,300 yards and 14 TDs last year in leading the Crimson Tide to the National Championship Game.

Interesting stat, of the 2021-22 NFL playoff teams who played a team in the opening week of the 2022-23 season who was NOT a playoff team last year, the non-playoff teams were 5-1. Only game that didn't go that way was the Eagles (playoff team) over the Lions (not a playoff team). As an Eagles fan, I'll take that. A win is a win.

That alleged facemask call on Maxx Crosby a few minutes ago was bogus. Dude never touched the mask. If he touched the helmet at all, it was around the ear hole. No facemask there.

Reminds me of the bogus flag I got back in Pop Warner. I never touched the mask; I tackled the dude by the back of the helmet. I've never seen a mask on the side or the back of a helmet. Some bogus zebras these days....

Any opening on the helmet (including the ear hole) can be considered for the facemask rule, it's not just the facemask itself. You can't grab any opening of the helmet and pull on it, or it's a facemask call. :coffee:

I think that'd be a good move for JG and NO. He'd develop a lot better under NO's coach, IMHO.
Belichick made a huge mistake allowing him to leave Foxboro he should be running the show right now.

You notice that all ppl talk about when it comes to the Packers is the WR I still think they made a huge mistake allowing Jeff Janis to leave he along with Randall Cobb should be the elder statesmen in the WR corps
