2022 NFL Season

News is starting to come quick. First the Bills' LBers Coach, a former NDSU HC, is retiring. Now there's word that there might be a rebellion of potential draft picks over the NFL's draconian bubble rules at the Combine. If the NFL doesn't relax those rules, many big names are expected to take part in medical exams only....

You can count Eric Weddle out for the Rams next year. He's accepted a job as HC-in-waiting at San Diego-Rancho Bernardo HS. He will officially take the reigns after current coach Tristan McCoy retires following the 2022 season. The school is 73-52 under McCoy and won a CIF D-IIIA State Championship in 2015 (35-14 over Atherton-Sacred Heart Prep).

Been hearing those rumors.
Given his new announcement, I highly doubt that the Whiner thing will happen. Brady will produce and act in "80 for Brady," a football-themed road trip comedy co-starring Rita Moreno, Sally Field, Lily Tomlin, and "I Ain't Fonda Jane." He will have some sort of secondary support-acting role. Brady's production role will come about because of his new 199 Productions, a nod to his draft position. The plot line is four women on a road trip to see their football idol. The road trip will center on Super Bowl LI, in which New England dominated Atlanta.

The Saints had one extra applicant for the HC position after they hired Dennis Allen: a little girl in Tennessee. The owner's reaction is classic.

Bleacher Report is proposing that the Cowboys make a major straight-up trade of WR Amari Cooper to Baltimore for CB Marcus Peters, Baltimore's third round pick in this year's draft.

That would be a major mistake IMO. The Cowboys don't have all that much in terms of offensive firepower right now, and giving up the one major target to get another CB who hasn't done anything yet after spending an entire draft focusing on defense doesn't make any sense to me....

The Bucs just lost Pro Bowl G Ali Marpet to retirement at 28.

https://www.aol.com/bucs-stunning-retir ... 07533.html

CBS Sports is predicting that the Dolts will be bold with trades at the QB position: Wentz to the Redskins, and then trading for Carr. No word on what the Dolts will give up for Carr. My Raiders fan friend doesn't like Carr, but is afraid to lose him like that because he's hearing rumors that the Raiders will try to replace Carr with Garoppolo, who has experience in McDaniels' system.

Just saw an article where a former Jets GM who went through this with Brett Favre. He's pooh-poohing all this talk about Brady playing next year. As far as he's concerned, if Brady plays, it will be in Tampa, because he's still under contract, and TB would be completely idiotic to trade him...for ANY price.

He's probably right....

ESPN is proclaiming that the Cowboys will CUT Amari Cooper now, as a cap casualty.

Dumb move, IMO. You can't restructure his contract? Sounds like Jones is quitting on the City of Dallas....

Liberty QB Malik Willis impressed just about everyone at Day 1 of the NFL Draft, yet for some reason Kenny Pickett is still at the top of most teams' draft boards. Kenny Pickett, who?!?

Willis apparently got a 32 on the Wonderlic.

South Carolina DT Jordan Davis, at 341 lbs, wowed the crowd today with a 4.78 40 time.

Good thing I'm not playing today. I ran a 5.2 40 against our starting center at UOP behind the gym during our first post-season workout in '95 (mere weeks before we found out that the school was disbanding the team). Could you imagine what a 341 lb guy could do to me running that fast?

Good for him but it also means less money for free agents (24% of the salary cap). More proof that KAaron prioritizes money over winning Super Bowls.Huge difference between him and Brady.

I think that'd be a good move for JG and NO. He'd develop a lot better under NO's coach, IMHO.
