Why would they be? An organization built on a tradition of victory vs an organization built on failure?

Well if you were 0-5 against them this year & watched them celebrate 2 WS titles in the last 5 years, what do you think??

This is like asking if Harlem Globetrotter fans are jealous of the Washington Generals.

The Red Sox arent built on failure. The Red Sox were the first great franchise in MLB winning several World Series titles in the first part of the century.... Also, I would hardly call what the Red Sox would endure in later years as failure.... yes they had some horrible teams, but they also had some great teams that just couldnt get that final win.

WOOOOOOWWW. So their greatest teams for 90 years were 2nd place!!!!!!!! That sure is saying something. The yankees have more occurances of consecutive ws titles than the red sox have in total.

People act like they didn't go through a titless slump ever. We can at least have a 10 year droubt and call it a slump. Most teams just have to call it "another 10 years"

I hate 'em... but they are the franchise that everyone else would like to be in terms of history and prestige and success... and anyone who says otherwise is a bloody liar or a fool.

the nearest franchise in terms of ws appearances is the dodgers with 1/2 that total... and only 6 wins...

in honesty... this sort of smug, "let's forget the 90 years inbetween now that we've found some success of late" attitude from the "nation" is the reason they've surpassed New York fans and Dallas fans as the biggest asses in all of sports...

the sawks have, in the last 30 years, won 2 and lost 1 WS... in that time the yankees have won 4 and lost 2... the sawks have won exactly same number of world series as the Phillies, Twins, Blue Jays, Marlins and Cardinals.

i think my advice to bostonians... shhhhhh... you sucked for waaaay too long to cock off like you won every series this decade... way too much hubris

in the only game that values and celebrates it's history like MLB??? you better believe it.

the problem is the "what have you done for me lately" attitude of fans... it's a shitty way to approach a game like baseball...

MLB is different... it's a league of lifelong fans and traditions being passed down... it's why MLB is so much better IMO than any of the other sports... it is reverent toward it's history, it embraces it, it loves it. I know as a Twins fan, Harmon Killebrew and Tony Oliva and Rod Carew matter, even though i never saw them play... just as my kids will know about Kirby Puckett, Kent Hrbek, Gary Gaetti and Jack Morris 1987 and 1991 too.

fact is... if you take an NFL fans approach to the national game... you'll be miserable... you just can't think short term with a game like baseball

I am a fan of my team, not a fan of the decade they are playing in. The fact that Sox fans even think that 2 wins in 5 years is worth being jealous over, just shows what a pathetic group of fans you are.

The Yankees have been playing with a stacked deck since 2001 (the LAST time they weren't #1 in spending by a country mile) and STILL can't BUY that elusive WS title. Since they last won it, they've spend $1.6 BILLION in payroll trying to BUY another one, to no avail. And in that timeframe, teams at @2 (twice), #8, #13, #15, #16, #18 and #20 have won it all.
