Yankees monitoring wind, tickets at new ballpark

While monitoring the wind, home runs and empty seats close to the field at their new ballpark, the New York Yankees are selling off their old stadium in bits and pieces.

Chief operating officer Lonn Trost said more wind studies will be done at the $1.5 billion new Yankee Stadium, but the weather during the first two homestands might have been unusual. Forty-seven home runs hit, four shy of the record for the first 13 games at a major league ballpark. Thirty-two of the homers were hit to right field.

“There were wind studies performed before. There will be wind studies performed as we go forward, and we’re just looking like you are to see whether or not it’s the weather, the wind, what happens when the old building goes down,” Trost said Tuesday.

He spoke after a news conference to announce memorabilia sales from the old Yankee Stadium. Seats are going for $1,500 a pair and $1,999 for specific pairs — the Jeffrey Maier chair will be sold separately—through Yankees-Steiner Collectibles, cheaper than the top single-game ticket price at the new ballpark.

I love the yankees and hate the Steinbrenners.

I have a meeting in San Fran on June 19th-20th and I am catching the red-eye back to NY the night of the 20th. It gives me some time to go see a Giants game. Box seat tickets are $48. $48 will get you bleacher seats at Yankee stadium. I just threw up in my mouth.

But I bet Lowe was scum when he was leading the Red Sox to a championship in 2004 lol

Hey, in all fairness, my tickets are $45 per game, and our seats are pretty nice in Section 208, with a nice view of the field framed by the facade.

Right, but those tickets aren't available unless you were willing to get all 81 games right? 15 game packages were all 300 and 400 level seats.

And like I said before, I'll gladly take those tickets off your hands if you need to get rid of them. ;)

You may be right that these seats are only available to people who purchased a full-season plan, but that is because there is enough demand. If the demand was lacking, these seats would have been sold on an individual game basis.

As for my share, I get two seats to 16 games. I have already taken the games I want, traded with the guy next to us to get four seats to some games, and then sold the balance to my firm.

Now on the other hand, you're a tax attorney. Our firm is the largest bankruptcy and insolvency boutique in New Jersey and we appear in courts throughout the US. If our practice were to be integrated to another firm in the New Jersey, that firm would immediately have the second largest bankruptcy practice group in New Jersey. In other words, only Lowenstein Sandler has more attorneys working on bankruptcy matters in the state of New Jersey. There's got to be some synergy between our practices.
;)

BTW, I have our firm's four seats for May 19 in the first row of section 309 (Terrace). See below (actually I' guess I have to email you the photo). I haven't sent them to any client yet? Interested ... ?
