Best & Worst Owners in Pro Sports

SI has ranked'em and gives us the 5 Best and 5 Worst from each sports...Baseball, football, basketball and hockey...
The method was not scientific but based on numerous factors, some of which are indisputable and some of which are intangible. Among the criteria used to evaluate owners was the willingness to spend money to improve the team; the stability and capabilities of the front office and management; the amenities at the team's venue; and the club's culture and interactivity with fans. Of course, weighing heavily in the decision was the team's success or failure on the field.
Not too many surprises...

Weird - I posted a reply but and it said it went through, but it didn't show up.
Anyway......the best investment in sports history - the NY Football Giants. Initial investment $500. FIVE HUDNRED DOLLARS!
Now worth over $1 billion. Amazing.

Hank Steinbrenner should be in the worst.
I still curse that Artie Moreno was not able to buy the Diamondbacks.
Glad the Bidwills don't make the NFL worst list...which Jerry Jones should be on.

How can the Packers not be on that list? They're owned by the fans!

Living here in the DC area, I know lots of Orioles (and former O's) fans...and they will agree that Peter Angelos has totally ruined a once proud team...
And he rightfully deserves to be on that list...

Donald Sterling, owner of the LA Clippers, has to be the worst.

Amazing. Might be the first time EVER Bill Bidwell's name wasn't at the top of a "Worst Owner" list....amazing what a Super Bowl run will do for a person's rep.

No shit...from what I hear, the only difference between Donald Sterling and Bill Bidwill is a single appearance in a championship game.

I'm not sure there's such a thing as "best" owner anymore.
The worst:
Steinbrenner
Schott
Jones
York
Frontierre
Moreno

Yeah, he has one of the best managers in the game today. But to me forcing that whole Anaheim-LA thing that NEITHER city wanted anything to do with screams ego.

Agreed, sounds stupid, but did it for exposure.

I mean, just two years ago, I think he was voted the worst owner of ALL TIME! How can he go from THAT, to not even being on the list? Just because he was smart enough to hire Ken Wisenhunt?

Hell, even a broke clock is right twice a day.

agreed. until the cards are consistently in the playoffs and not f'ing it up the "busted clock theory" applies.
