Is anyone watching this? I have always wanted to see this on TV, but had to wait until this year to watch it on Universal Sports.
I wanted to watch it, because it is so much more enjoyable than the Tour de France. With this race, they mix crap up and make it a really interesting format. Not only that, but the races in general are shorter, so it causes much more action.
In the end, I would tell most people who are new to cycling to only watch the last 30 minutes, because everything else would be boring to them except for the sprint finish and possible crashes.

I'm not watching it (don't have universal sports), but I love to cycle and I like watching cycling. Watching a stage that ends in a climb is great. The riders go all out, it's great sport.SeattleGriz wrote:Is anyone watching this? I have always wanted to see this on TV, but had to wait until this year to watch it on Universal Sports.

Oh man, then you would love the Giro. They started out with an awesome team time trial, then after 3 stages, they hit the mountains. Yes, the mountains already.BlueHen86 wrote:I'm not watching it (don't have universal sports), but I love to cycle and I like watching cycling. Watching a stage that ends in a climb is great. Anyway, the 5th stage started out with a super nasty climb, only to be followed by 25 miles of descending, then in the end, a 15 mile climb that gained over 5k in climbing.
What sort of bike?
Here is my current Stella (think A Streetcar Named Desire). I assembled the bike, and built the wheels (not these) by hand. I used to race bikes, so I kinda like bikes.

And the kid hauler when I am looking for a power workout. Look at that poor aged Mofo of a mountain bike with a rigid fork. I call it the Urban Assault Machine!

Nice bikes. I ride a Trek 2000. I never raced, but I used to ride about 2000 miles a year. After not riding for a few years, I just started riding again this week.SeattleGriz wrote:Oh man, then you would love the Giro. 2000 miles is great and currently kicks the crap out of my mileage. I haven't been able to ride consistently since we had kids.BlueHen86 wrote:Nice bikes. I ride a Trek 2000.
