Preakness 2009

Post by andy7171 »

An utter failure. I've gone to 4 Preaknesses in my life. Insanity all day long. Drinking begins when they let you in the gates at 6:30am, doesn't stop until the Preakness Stakes @6pm. Until this year, you were allowed to bring in your own drinks. They got rid of that rule this year for some unknown reason. $3.50 beers on the inside, after a $50 infield ticket of course.
An event that brought in well over 115,000 people every year dropped to 70,000 Saturday.

Idiots.

Aren't they bankrupt, and the state is trying to buy them?

Hmm, 45K less people, and people actually bought beer this year, and believe me if people got there early in the AM it wasn't to get a seat by the rail. Considering it was BYOB before I'd imagine the track made a heckuva lot more $$ this year.

No. The State is trying to make sure the Preakness stays in Baltimore or at least in Maryland.
