May 20 (Bloomberg) -- Michael Vick was released from a federal prison and will spend much of the next two months under home confinement in Virginia as the former National Football League quarterback completes a 23-month sentence for helping to run a dogfighting ring.
Vick, 28, was released from the prison in Leavenworth, Kansas, today, according to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons Web site.
Vick will wear an electronic monitoring device at his home in Hampton, Virginia, until his time in federal custody ends in July. He’ll be permitted to leave home detention for a $10-an- hour construction job and other court-approved events.
Vick was sentenced in December 2007 after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges related to an interstate dogfighting ring.

Which is why I'm pretty sure we'll see him in the NFL again. Even though he's missed two years because of prison, that's two years that his body didn't take a beating in the NFL.

We all remember how jail changed Tyson. He will be all used up.

Did anyone happen to see the news report where the mapped out his exact route from the state pen to his home in VA, along with shots of his house?? It was as if to say "Here is the route Michael Vick will be taking upon his exit from the state penitentiary, should you choose to hunt him down." I'm not sure if it was local or what, but it was pretty damn funny.

I would argue that it wasn't prison that ruined Mike Tyson, it was Don King and the fact that he stopped training under Kevin Rooney.
Tyson was going downhill when he entered prison.

Yes, but prison really put it into 5th gear. Maybe Vick stayed in Neutral, who knows, but I would venture to guess that he has lost a step and then some.

I'm sure he has, I'm just speculating that 2 years in prison won't slow him as much as 2 years in the NFL. I never considered him a great QB to begin with (I thought he was good, but not great). But when you look at some of the QB's that are on NFL rosters these days you have to think that there is a spot for Vick somewhere.

Agreed.
He served his time and I think he should get a second chance if he's reinstated.

I don't think Vick will EVER be an NFL QB again. He will be IN the NFL, but probably as a running back.

I could see that too. Or maybe a kick returner/wide receiver.
