DCU and RBNY can be drawn against any of the following: Real Espana, Chalatenango, W Connection, Puerto Rico Islanders, San Juan Jabloteh, or the second Nicaraguan, Panamanian, or Guatemalan team. The winners of these matchups will go into the group stage.
I'm almost annoyed Belize lost their qualifier, Hankook Valdes would be a much easier opponent than a Guatemalan team. The best I can hope for is one of the two Trinidadian teams, but truth be told, these group stages run concurrently with the playoffs - and I'd rather DC get their act together and finally win again.

The win takes the ’Caps into sole possession of first place in the championship standings, with TFC now needing a victory by four goals in the tournament’s final match at Montreal Impact on Thursday, June 18, to have any chance of winning the Voyageurs Cup and Canada’s lone spot in the 2009-10 CONCACAF Champions League.

Toronto FC take home Canadian Championship
-- They said it couldn`t be done. It had been generally conceded that there was no chance that Toronto FC could win the Nutrilite Canadian Championship by defeating the Montreal Impact by four goals Thursday night.
But not only did TFC do it, they did it one better.

Chalatenango has run into bankruptcy and the Salvadorean federation offered their spot to Firpo instead. Firpo has accepted the invitation and will open CCL play at DC United July 28.

Yep, first time any American team, any level, has won at Saprissa and Houston is 2-1-0 at home against Pachuca with the only loss coming in PKs. They both have a good shot at advancing and with Toluca blowing out Marathon last night, DC still has a chance to get second in the group.

Mexican teams lead all four groups, with each MLS team now in second place and in position to advance. Houston thrashed Aribe Unido 5-1 to move into second place on goal differential, Columbus lost 2-0 to Cruz Azul and stays in second place, and DC United beat Marathon 3-0 to move ahead of them on aggregate goals (4-3).

Advanced to the knockout stage: Pachuca, Cruz Azul, and Pumas
To advance, Houston must beat Metapan and have Pachuca beat Aribe, as Houston own the head-to-head tiebreaker against them. The Crew must beat or tie Puerto Rico, while Cruz Azul travels to Saprissa and a tie for the Blue Cross would see Columbus through. DC must beat Toluca, but have never won in Mexico, assuming that Marathon beat pointless San Juan. As with the other two, DC owns the tie-breaker over the other team.

3. W Connection 7 pts
4. Real Espana 6 pts
Advance to quarterfinals: Pachuca, Aribe Unido, Toluca, Marathon, Cruz Azul, Columbus, Pumas UNAM, Comunicaciones
Columbus is the only MLS team to advance to the knockout round. They tied Puerto Rico on the road and combined with Cruz Azul's win over Saprissa advanced. The Houston Dynamo needed to beat winless Metapan, -17 GD, and lost. They held the tiebreaker over Aribe Unido but need three points to advance. DC United likely needed a win against Toluca, and earned their first point ever in Mexico, but with Marathon beating San Juan, DC will also be home next March.
